Hello hello lovelies! It's been a year since Hotel Kairos went on hiatus due to several real life reasons, and now we're preparing to get the ball rolling again.
To new and returning players: There will be a plot update posted one week from today, on Monday the 12th, that starts off our brand new reboot. It will be a Purgatory jump with elements of holiday horror to be explained later (I just wanted to get your mouths to water). Like usual, players will have two real-time weeks to play out the plot (while one week passes in-game). There is a chance we will extend past two real-time weeks IF players voice a majority opinion that way, considering we're entering Finals and Holiday craziness. We'll play that by ear.
To returning players: Here's where you decide what you would like to do with your old characters. We are not exactly picking up where we left off, but we're not saying a whole year of jumps has happened between then and now (because that would be just too much plot to handwave), so here's what happened. After the last plot update, the hotel was in Purgatory, but instead of jumping somewhere at the end of a week, it stayed there. The food that had been eaten did not replenish, the rooms didn't get fresh towels, or wood for fireplaces. Basically, nothing magical happened in the hotel for six whole weeks, leaving residents to wonder if they were permanently stuck with a dwindling supply of food. Now, if you want your character to come in fresh, you can say they disappeared during this time; either they just vanished, or they walked off into the fog and never came back, and now they can come back with no memory of their previous stay. OR, you can have them experience The Starving Time and plot out things that happened therein. The hotel would have jumped exactly twelve hours after the last scrap of food was consumed. The destination was a lovely, but deserted tropical island, where nothing otherworldly happened. That is the last jump that happened until the new time update in a week.
