Hi everyone. I'm new here, and I'm not really used to intro posts, but I'll give it a shot. I'm another ex-LJer, but not because of the recent issues, per se. It has more to do with the fact that the way the issue is being handled is... not confidence inspiring, and I've been having problems with the system itself.

So... anyway. I'm a bit of a history buff, mainly the American Founding, Ancient Greece and Rome. I'm finishing up the last year of my undergraduate work in Political Science, and hopefully I'll be going to grad school for International Studies in the next year or two. Despite that, I really hate politics. I'm all about political science and theories and histories and such. I also love to read, but I'm all over the board: I'll read Plato or Aristotle, Anne of Green Gables, John Grisham, and Dr. Suess. It's all good stuff.

Outside of the book world, I love sailing and traveling, and just meeting people and talking about everything and nothing. And there's always my IJ to give a better idea of me. Hopefully I can make a couple of friends on here. Thanks!

While I was not personally affected by LJ's current battle with fandom I decided that it was time for me to find a new place. Of course they chose to do this right when I was ready to get back into fandom after a rather long break from it.

I am 19 and currently studying communication/graphic design. I spend most of my time on my mac playing classic games like tetris and pacman, listening to music, watching tv online, and reading fic.

Books: Harry Potter, His Dark Materials, stuff by Francesca Lia Block, and lots of other stuff
Music: pretty much anything (except hip-hop/rap), the Boston Typewriter Orchestra is awesome, as is Lemon Demon (band of the guy who created Potter Puppet Pals)
Movies: American Beauty, HP, movies that make fun of things - But I'm A Cheerleader, Saved!, Not Another Teen Movie, etc etc
TV: Kyle XY, Greek, Degrassi, South of Nowhere, Scrubs, Daria, Simpsons, Family Guy, Sailor Moon (the only anime I've ever actually liked/got into), soap operas (in general), 80s cartoons such as Rainbow Brite, Jem, Snorks, etc etc, and 90s Nickelodeon shows - The Secret World of Alex Mac, Hey Dude, Are You Afraid of the Dark, etc etc
Games: I'm not really into gaming... but I enjoy old school games (even if I do suck at playing them) - tetris, pacman, q*bert, pong, galaga, etc etc.
