Who: Sofia; OT Kevin's reaction When: Monday morning Where: Boys dorm, outside Kevin's dorm What: Leaving a present for the Doom and Gloom Boy.
Sofia Mantega could sometimes be an emotional roller coaster, but she always found ways to persevere. It didn't take long after her conversation online with Kevin Ford to bounce back to her usual, perky self. In fact, she'd argue that she held her happiness and hope together very well considering how much of a Gloomy Gus he was being. Even if he didn't want pity, Kevin had Sofia's pity. She loved having people in her life. They made her smile. She couldn't relate to how Kevin liked being alone, and worried about his health both mentally and physically. That was no way to live!
She wanted to befriend the boy, but it was hard. They had never met and she figured walking up and introducing herself would backfire if even the Internet failed her. So Sofia got about to getting a present for Kevin. Everyone loved presents, she believed. She had gone to the dollar store the night before after her dance party with Jubilee and then stayed up late making a note out of construction paper and markers. She held back on stickers and drawing any hearts, knowing he wouldn't like them. Her work done five hours before she needed to be up, Sofia then left the gift outside Kevin's dorm room the next morning. It was easy to get from Paige the information, if only because it was better known as 'Kurt's room.'
Outside Kevin's door was a plastic, yellow whiffle ball bat. That was a good gift for a boy, right? Especially because there was meaning behind it. It was a bit more destructive than Sofia would normally be, but she wagered that might be a way to appeal to Kevin. Attached to it was a note written in red marker on green construction paper. It had been hole punched and tied to the bat's handle with white ribbon. She also drew a picture of a crate of belongings with a big red X over it on the card.
Kevin!
To help you keep people away from your stuff!
xoxo Sofia
She knocked and then flew off with her wind powers, hitting the wall a few times in her haste to round the corner. With a few swears in Spanish, she rounded the corner and was out of sight.
