WHO: Warren & Betsy
WHEN: Tuesday
WHERE: Empty classroom
WHAT: During lunch, Warren stays behind to do a little research.

While everyone else was busy going to lunch, one studious student remained in the classroom. While Warren Worthington III was in fact doing research, it wasn't for anything for his coursework. With his Macbook whipped out, Warren was searching the Internet for sites with searches such as 'plastic surgery', 'back surgery', and 'broken wings'. Warren didn't want to part with his feathers and the thought of it did make his stomach churn. But one day, should his powers never be restored, they'd have to go. He was in pain if he wasn't on drugs for them, and they were useless and inhibiting his ability to interact with the free world. Warren had so many goals he wished to achieve; something would have to give, and soon.

Warren had his feathered back to the doorway of the classroom he was in. To be fair, if he had wanted to be discreet, he shouldn't have left the door wide open.

Betsy was skipping out on lunch. She wasn't very hungry so she decided to use the hour and half to doddle and hang around. It was abysmally boring around the school these days. Some of the students powers were still on the fritz, and Betsy was one of them. She never thought it would bother her so much but now she was really, really dying to get them back. She was walking down the hallway when she spied a pair of large white wings out of the corner of her eye.

When she poked her head into the class room she saw Warren seated in front of a computer. Well here was a welcome distraction. She'd been very curious about Warren since she'd come to the institute. She wasn't a religious woman by nature but seeing a veritable angel before her eyes tempted her to convert. "Well well, not very hungry either Mr. Worthington." She said playfully as she walked into the classroom and taking a seat at a desk opposite him.

There was that initial hesitation on his mousepad when Warren realized he had company, wondering if he should minimize what he was searching or not. It was a sensitive matter to him. However, he seemed to be in luck as Betsy walked around him to an opposite desk. Warren's gaze followed her, to be cordial.

"Ms. Braddock, right?" Warren asked. He wanted to make sure he had Betsy's name correct. She had caught his eye before, but the two hadn't had a lot of one-on-one exposure. "Not exceptionally hungry, no. Sometimes it's nicer to have a few minutes away from everyone instead." It was also because Warren still had trouble wrapping his brain around his weight, now that he had lost his avian bone density. He wasn't overweight whatsoever, but gaining close to 70 pounds overnight had been unnerving. "But, a company of one is appreciated." Warren turned on the charm, not wanting to make Betsy feel unwelcome with his prior response.

"Yep that's my name." Betsy said with a playful smile. Warren seemed to be pouring on a little of that richie rich charm, and Betsy was loving it. Perhaps it was a sign of how shallow she was, but that's just the way things are. "So I see that you kept your wings." She said as she placed her hands behind her head and sat back in a relaxed position.

"Did you loose any of your other powers?" She asked. "I've been without mine since this whole bloody thing started." And she prayed that the whole thing would end soon. That way she could get back to training and kicking ass.

Warren was the type to keep pouring on the charm until there was clear evidence it wasn't working. Since Betsy was giving the opposite feedback, he just kept up with that dimpled smile and eye contact with his piercing blues. "I hope it isn't too awkward of me; I've just been paying attention."

His expression didn't even waver at the mention of his wings, despite the subject matter he was researching moments ago. "I did, although I believe I've lost my X-gene entirely. None of my other skills survived. And while my wings are still here, I can't actually do much with them." They sat motionless on his back, no stretching or playful movements present. "Despite the commotion online, I think more of us lost our mutations than kept them."

Betsy figured as much with Warren's statement. It certainly was inconvient. She mentally noted that it was a shame that even if Warren had retained his wings that they were practically useless. What good is a bird without the ability to fly. If she still had her telepathy in tact she would have used it to see what Warren was really thinking, but simple conversation would have to suffice. "And they still haven't told us what caused it." She stated as she looked off in thought.

Then she sighed and stretched out. "Bad luck about your other powers flying the coup, so to speak." She said. "The part that pisses me off is some of us, including a certain snotty socialite, got to keep theirs." She was referring to Monet St. Croix. So far the only encounters she'd had with the rich bitch were not friendly. "But I'm sure old bauldy is tying to find a way to reverse it." Then she realized she was rambling. "Anyway, did you find what your looking for?" she said making a motion tword the computer.

Telepathy would definitely be far more revealing than Warren's pretty poker face. He closed his laptop slightly to have a more uninterrupted view of Betsy, even if it wasn't really in the way. "Whom, you mean." Warren reminded. While he had a pretty good guess as to who it was though, Warren wouldn't be blabbing. But since the Professor had already announced it was one of the students, he didn't feel he was overstepping any bounds in reminding her of that one.

Warren was amused by the socialite comment. Which one? It felt like there were several now, though Warren could wager a good guess. "Everything happens for a reason, I suppose. It's cliched and sometimes I don't understand it, but maybe they have some other trial to face. Or our trial is just having to deal with them being as insufferable as ever." At the wave at his computer, Warren looked to it briefly with an absent shrug. "More or less."
