Sooraya for the last two years of being in this school had lived her life as if she was not really there. She went to lessons with a closed mind, and trained for the sake of using her abilities. She did not try to make friends, she did not try to distant herself either, it was just easier to be that neutral shadow that people either saw or dismissed. She no longer wanted to be that person, nor did she want to use her veils as a shield to the physical world and the people who inhabited it. It was hard to get use to however, her veils had been a security blanket, and without them she had moved on to allow her hair to hide her face whenever possible, the longs curls of dark cinnamon and raven were kept over her shoulders. She looked like a new person, unless someone noticed her eyes (or had taken the time to talk to her before). It was funny how she knew so many people here, but without her veils so many people thought she was new, maybe that was a good thing though. A fresh start. She left the kitchen with a bottle of water in one hand, her carrier bag slung over her shoulder and for once, she had a figure. though she was only wearing the normal clothing she wore under her veils and 'robe' it was something people had never seen her in. A grey heavy skirt that zipped at her waist and hit just a little past her ankle, a thin black sweater tucked into the skirt, and a silver scarf wrapped like a headband around her hair, though she'd pulled enough hair out and pushed the scarf back enough that she could still have hair in her face. The boots that were normally muffled under the layers of clothing she wore could now be heard clicking as she made her way to the rec room. The skirt was of a heavy fabric and moved only slightly as she walked. Once in the rec room she looked over people's heads, nervous to make eye contact as she held tighter to her water bottle and her free hand clung to the strap of her bag. She didn't have her abilities to rely on to get her out of any intense situation and she didn't have her veils to hide behind, a silently prayer lifted up as she made her way to a semi-private corner and took a seat, crossing her legs and gave off the aura of a scared cat more than of someone who had been in the school for two years. Nervously she took a pre-made sandwich from her bag before lifting the bag off of her and placed it on the floor so she could start picking more at the bread of the sandwich than eat it. |
