Josh had of course been completely unaware that he and Alani had company out in the hallway. In fact it wasn't until Laurie spoke out loud that Josh realized she was there at all. He was still standing facing his bed and not the doorway and still shirtless as Alani had hurried out of the room, missing the fact that she'd ended up destroying the door knob in the process.
He didn't say anything to Laurie at first, though he did glance over his shoulder quickly to find her standing there in the doorway before he started hunting around for his t-shirt. Seriously, where the hell had it gone? For a few moments he focused solely on the task, willing himself to calm down and not think about Alani for the time being. Eventually he found that it slipped between his bed and the wall. Pulling the shirt on over his head he plopped down onto the edge of his bed.
It was obvious from his expression that Josh was still seriously upset and on edge after the argument. "It's not..." he started to ask Laurie to leave but upon glancing up at her again he realized that she was carrying a cake and instead he trailed off. Shit. "What's up?" he asked quietly with a sigh, his way of letting her know she could come in and set the cake down if she wanted to.
