"Why does it have to be complicated?" Julian asked, muffled as he placed his hand over hers and pinched the sheet to his nose as well, just like Nessa told him to. "Sorry." He muttered, realizing there was blood on his hand. He couldn't get any blood on all this white... everything and immediately felt guilty for messing up Vanessa's bed sheet. Oh God, her bed sheet, she slept in this! He had to quiet his teenage thoughts and just focused on trying to stop the bleeding. He was a complete mess, his hands were bloody, his head hurt, none of this made any sense, and all he wanted was for everything to go back to normal - the way it was before the switch. "I... I don't know." Julian mumbled quietly, allowing himself to be eased back onto the bed and sit down. Seeing Emma's blood sobered him up a little bit. He wouldn't have cared if it was his own nose bleeding, but the fact that this could happen to Emma freaked him out. He didn't want to hurt his mentor either, or be the cause of some eternal damage. He'd promise to be a better guest in her body from now on, and maybe stop flailing for five seconds and calm down.
"I'm sorry..." he said again, look at Vanessa briefly and then back to concentrating on stopping his bleeding nose. "Your sheets and everything and... sorry." Julian stayed quiet. He didn't want to talk about Sofia, he didn't want to talk about anything. He just wanted to go. But it was all coming down to this, wasn't it? Julian sighed, "About Sofia..." he started, the words sounding strange from Emma. "I like her, you know? She's... she really means a lot to me... and I don't want to hurt her and I know if ... well, she wouldn't understand, right? But that doesn't mean that I don't..." He didn't know if he could say it. "I... like what... we have Vanessa... It's kind of our thing, but I know we're only... well you only wanted to be... so that's why, with Sofia I mean, and you didn't say anything about it so I figured it was never like that, or you never felt that way... because sometimes it felt like you had someone... else..." He quieted down until he was almost inaudible. "I dunno." Julian shrugged, "I get it, I guess. For the longest time I thought we might be and... it's really okay, I get it." He pulled his hand away to assess the progress of his nosebleed. "I think it stopped bleeding so I should probably go." It hadn't, but he could probably make it from here to the bathroom if he kept his nose covered and the bridge of it pinched.
