"I'm... I..." He stammered, eyes closing as the distance between their lips did. He would have kissed her, too, if he didn't notice the lock of Emma's blonde hair fall over his shoulder. Julian jerked away quickly, lips tightening as his hand went over his mouth. He pushed himself up and off Vanessa quickly, taking in Terry's blushing form. "I'm sorry." The words were muffled behind his closed hand. "I'm sorry... for falling." He repeated, now focused on trying to get up, rolling onto his knees and awkwardly grasped for the bed behind him. He latched on, trying to lift himself up as quickly as humanly possible. He wasn't going to apologize for nearly kissing her though... if he didn't bring it up, it would be like it never happened. "I'm sorry, I'm so stupid, I won't get this right, I should just go." His words were quick, and the fear in him gave him new inspiration to stand up, hell, the kid was even walking around, collecting his green nike sneakers and throwing his cape back dramatically to get it out of the way. When he wasn't thinking about how to walk in these stupid shoes, Emma's muscle memory kicked in as it came naturally to her. He pushed his fingers through his hair, coming it back behind his ear. If things weren't weird before, he probably made them weird now, and regretted reading Vanessa's mind. He wanted to know though, if he made some irreparable damage, and was tempted to read her mind again to see how she felt about it. Mind reading was addictive, and he wanted to know... he couldn't.. not know... what if he screwed something up?
But he didn't, this was what got him into trouble in the first place, but he still left his telepathy on without thinking. If it were possible, Emma's cheeked turned red too. He dusted his shoulder off where Terry's scream had hit him, fingers ruffling through the fur. It stung a bit but it was no big deal, "It's just that you wanted to. I mean I thought you- not like this, but-" He didn't know what he was saying, stopping himself now felt like a good idea too. "I miss you too, Vanessa." Julian said stubbornly. "And I... I just better go."
