Vanessa gave a little yelp while they went falling - unfortunately, a yelp from Terry was a lot more destructive than a yelp from just about anyone else. A slight sonic wave left her mouth, smacking Julian in the shoulder. Luckily, it wasn't a very formed or directed wave, so it wasn't more than a slight annoyance, really. But Vanessa bit her lip after they had settled awkwardly on the ground. She had to be a lot more careful! But her mind was racing right now, still trying to pinpoint what Julian had been talking about. He hadn't answered her at all, and now she felt terribly awkward bringing it back up again, especially since now she felt responsible for their fall. If she hadn't been accusatory, maybe she could have kept them upright. Then again, they were doomed to fall at some point.
Once they were settled on the ground, Ness, who had closed her eyed in the fall, slowly peeked open her eyes. She was looking up at Julian - though it was so weird and for an instant terrifying to be pinned beneath Emma Frost's body - but the fall hadn't hurt as much as it could have. She could feel Julian's - Emma's - arm around her, and blushed again. Terry, how did you ever go about hiding any sort of embarrassment?! The position felt like one she would engage in for... other reasons, except they were both clothed. It didn't help that Julian - in Emma's body, this was hurting her head the more to stared up to see Emma Frost there - was wearing something that wouldn't be out of place in the beginning of such an encounter. Her cheeks were so hot, and she felt like she had a fever. The words gave her a little shudder with Emma's lips moving, and she had to close her eyes. It was easier to imagine Julian with her eyes closed.
But she cracked them open again when Julian insisted it was nothing. Julian... wasn't moving. And he was awful close. Had he maybe gotten closer? She couldn't move without shifting against Julian, and with her legs pinned open like that and not being in her own body, she felt awkward doing anything. She was hoping Julian would make the first move. Oh yeah, definitely getting closer. "I-I'm fine, Julian," she said, afraid Julian would be able to feel the heat radiating off her cheeks now. She swallowed, giving a slight, subtle movement to her lips. "Are... are you?" She left off the okay, not realizing it, so it might have sounded a little awkward, an incomplete thought.
