Ness just shook her head lightly. "You say that, but I know it's harder than that. You don't have to impress me, you know. Just take it nice and slow." She didn't realize, not fully, just how much he wanted to impress her. She should have guessed by now, especially since even if they were close friends, even if he was her best friend - they kissed like something more whenever Ness needed his powers. She just thought of it as another facet of their friendship, though, nothing more. Maybe it was because she was starting to feel a little disillusioned with relationships. Why did they always leave...? Would Regan leave too? Of course she would.
Augh, those were awful thoughts to have rolling in her head. She smiled past them and shook them out and took in the sight of the diamond skin. "That's pretty amazing," she said, watching Julian move around Emma's arm. "I never knew she could do that." But then, she tended to avoid Emma, before and after the... incident.
When Julian asked his question, Ness felt the heat rise to her cheeks. Even when Julian tried to save the comment, stumbling over some more words, she didn't feel the heat go away. And she was used to hiding it, but she couldn't, not in Terry's form. How did she deal with not shifting?? And why was she so fair skinned? Ness couldn't see herself, but she knew she was red in the face. Visibly. She felt better when she could hide it. She shook her head, coughing and rubbing the back of her neck. "I... That is..." It'd be rude to deny and awkward to accept. But then, they'd had awkward before. She hoped if she just touched it, they could move on. She felt a lot more exposed in Terry's body, for some reason. She nodded a little, reaching out and grazing a hand over Julian's arm. Play it cool, even if her cheeks were hot. "That's... interesting." Ugh, so lame!
