WHO: Ororo & Logan
WHAT: Ororo is seeking counsel
WHEN: After classes, Wednesday
WHERE: Ororo's office
Ororo sighed and closed her eyes feeling a stress lift off of her as she read over Logan's short but sweet reply. It was a bitter sweet moment in her life however, she ran her hands through the long strands of white and silver hair and counted back from ten as she relaxed her muscles and reminded herself that this was for the best. Her pride could not get in the way of a students progress, or lack thereof. She stood from her chair and logged off her teacher login before moving from the desk and back to where her shattered potted plants were. She had placed clay saucers under them to catch the water for when she needed to water them. Though they were by far droopier than they had ever been while in her office, they were alive, and that's what mattered the most to her. She had left them on the ground, just in case Warpath decided to come storming in randomly again, she knelt on the floor before her plants and made a sad face as strands of hair came to block her face slightly, for once she just left it. She held her right hand out in front of her as her eyes went milky and then pure white as a small fog-like cloud started to form in her hand. Though it seemed like magic, it took a few seconds to gather and was more a natural reaction than magic at all, nor was it something that came to be because she wanted it. She moved the air currents in the room, shifted by the heater that was on, and subconsciously rolled dust particles with the moisture in the room until the cloud formed. Using those same currents she moved the cloud over a potted plant one at a time and willed a drizzling of water for each plant. She wished she could be seeing Logan for a different reason, because she had cooked him a rare steak and wanted to catch up with her friend...or because she was just happy he was home and had a need to be around the feral man who made her feel at home because their connection ran longer and deeper than she wanted to admit. If Jean were not here, Logan would be her best friend...was still a best friend. Though it was different and she couldn't explain why it was different between him and Jean. It didn't matter either. She moved the cloud to the next plant and looked away for a second to catch the clock, a few more minutes and he should be here. Her stomach did a small flip, she told herself to eat her pride and not let it fester. She did not ask for help often, and did not want to ask for help now, not really. She had been taking care of the situation for at least two years now, Xavier had entrusted her with this kid after all...it had been one of her first lone missions...and now she was going to ask for help. Now, after two years and all that time she had spent guarding him and the preparations for what would come next. It didn't matter though, not now. Not that another student had been hurt because of him, sure, Remy had been a willing participant but boys were stupid at that age. Why not agree to a death match, even if that had not been what it was meant to be in the beginning. She sighed as she remembered what she had seen and how she had to stop it. No, Logan was necessary here. He was the only one who understood dominance, who could put someone like James in his place and give him that extra shove when needed. Ororo's words were not enough anymore, and though she wanted to strike James down, often, she could not. She feared electrocuting him, and she feared really doing harm to the boy...though a mere slap or tug of his hair would not be enough to get his attention when he went into mood swings that reminded her so much of Logan at times. She shook her head to clear her mind and focus on her plants until Logan finally showed up. Her poor plants..."Damn it James," she sounded defeated and angered all at the same time, her scent was a mix of night rain and that scent only animals could pick up before lightning struck...an electrical pulse in the air that was smelt just as well as felt. |
