WHO: Tandy ~ Narrative
WHAT: Ditching all classes to be on her own for the day (should probably get yelled at later).
WHEN: Wednesday, around 7AM.
WHERE: Spa, mall, floral shop, two different restaurants.
Tandy felt semi bad for not inviting anyone out with her, but at the same time she didn't want to get anyone else in trouble. She was sure that she was going to, at the very least, be yelled at when she finally returned to the school grounds. She couldn't imagine that ditching classes would get her more than a slap on the wrist, especially since it was only her first wrongdoing, unless they decided to go to the extremes first so she wouldn't do it again. That just seemed wrong though, so she decided to think that it would just be the slap on the wrist as she checked herself out in the mirror in the bathroom she shared with her roommate, who had already gone off to her classes. She slid her hands through her hair, a 'flexible' liquid hair product already smoothed over her hands made every fly-away hair stay down and in place, yet didn't harden her hair like other products would have. She checked her wallet quickly, credit and debt cards in their places along with her ID. That's all she needed, she slid the slender bit of leather into the back pocket of her nearly white, though really just severely faded light blue jeans, before stuffing the bootcut hems of her jeans into her frontal laced ugg boots. A tight knit-stretch grey sweater, and a plush white button-up vest jacket with a faux fur inline hoodie. She pushed a mitten into the side pockets of the vest jacket for safe keeping before spinning and walking with dancers hop to her step back into her room and grabbed her ipod. After sliding the ipod into her hip jean pocket and lacing the wires under her jacket and slipping the buds into her ears she was ready to be gone. Steppin' Out by Kaskade flooded her ears and lit up her face, slow club songs always made her feel like dancing, especially when the beat sped up with the song. It was still early enough that she could lie and say she was just going out for a jog or something should she be stopped, but by the time she was out the front door and more dancing than jogging out the front gate, she didn't bother looking over her shoulder or much care if she had been followed. When we get older I'll still want you here with me. Darling I hope that you agree, there's something that takes place whenever we embrace, she hummed to the words as she nodded her head and sort of shifted her shoulders to the melody, her hands stuffed in her jacket pockets as she walked with the people around her as she made her way to a main street so she could eventually find a taxi. The song really wasn't that long and it took nearly four times hearing the song, which she loved, before realizing that it had been on repeat. After hearing the ending for that last time she started singing it to herself as she continued to dance with herself and not dance at all. "I'm hoping that you take this chance....of steppin' out.....could you think it over when we get older....I still want you here with me...darling the hope you bring...there's something that takes place whenever we embrace. I'm hoping that you take this chance...steppin' out to dance..." Eventually she got her taxi and was headed off to the nearest spa with shopping facilities. An hour or more later she was in the process of a seaweed wrap, which wasn't what she had expected at all. She had been expecting long foliage to engulf her body, but apparently they made a paste out of the seaweed and messaged her while applying layers of the paste. It felt good all the same and relaxed every muscle in her body, then again, being naked on a table while rubbed down with foreign substances wasn't new to her, this had once upon a time her mother's idea of silently bonding with Tandy. It really was funny how the things you use to hate so much suddenly were missed when you pulled yourself out the equation you so hated. These thoughts seemed to plague her after reading that other person's blog entry, it had been true, but she hadn't realized she'd felt that way until she had responded to him. She didn't know why she had responded to him, but was glad she had now. It was easier to examine her own thoughts under the warm sensation of the seaweed working its magic on her skin. Magic, that reminded her, she had to get in touch with Wanda again. After nearly two hours of spa time, Tandy got a mani-pedi and her hair done (a simple trim) before picking up a few new hair products and stopped off at a little Moroccan restaurant for a dish of couscous and grilled vegetables. After her meal it was time for shopping, real shopping. The nearest mall was dominated by Tandy, cards were swiped, bags accumulated. Not just for her, she had picked up a few things for people too, the ones she'd been able to hang out with and got to know, even just a little bit. Tandy was just the type to go out and pick things up if she thought someone else would like them. After shopping she had dinner at a French restaurant: Vegetarian French onion soup, lentil salad, and a lemon mousse later and she wasn't sure she was going to be able to move. She would really have to jog before classes tomorrow. The only thing that could have made things more perfect would have been if the restaurant had allowed her the red wine she'd desired, even though, a tip was left as they called a taxi for her and she finally departed with many thank you's and smiles. The ride back to the school made Tandy a little uneasy, what would await her? Whatever it was, it was worth it for the day she had just had. She smiled to herself, so what she'd just gone shopping with Paige and Amara? This had been different, this had been just her and a way to get away from her own head and others...it had been needed. She'd spent a year on her own doing whatever she wanted, and now she was in a dorm, she'd never even had a sibling...it was new and she had needed time for herself and to be alone. She smiled contently and replaced the ipod buds into her ears. September, Kylie Minogue, Nelly Furtado and similar artists serenaded her on the drive home. Once home Tandy stayed away from the main building and to the path that would lead her to the girl dorms and away from the main building. She was back on school grounds by 8:30PM or so, so wasn't past curfew, she had kept tabs on her time to make sure of that. Once back in her dorm she gave a few gifts to her roommate before putting her own items away and then grabbed the gifts she'd gotten for the other girls. Stopping girls in the halls until she figured out where everyone's room was so she could leave the items with roommates or hanging on the door knob. Once that was done, she went back to her room and threw herself on the bed with a content sigh and smile before closing her eyes. "What an awesome day." |
