"That's the screwy thing with Charlie. He has this soft spot for kids and likes to think the best in everyone, even maniacs and Reavers." Even though the pace of the conversation had calmed, Logan was still on edge and really wanted a cigarette about now. He reached into his pocket and pulled one out, having no problem with breaking Charles' rule about smoking indoors. It was a free country and these children had ill effects on him. "Because they gotta be on someone's team, kid. He was probably even doin' everyone a favor by putting them on the same one."
Logan found his lighter and flicked it on, holding it close to the cigarette in his lips before retracting it when he was satisfied that it was lit properly. Logan took it in his hands and graciously blew the smoke over his head instead of in Josh's face. Whoever said he wasn't nice to children? "How creeped out d'ya think the other kids would be if they found out you were a killer and then got placed on their team?" The way Logan made the remark was casual, worded as if he didn't know any better when there was a strong possibility he did know about the soldier from the Weapon X attack.
