Vanessa reached around herself and gingerly rubbed at the back of her neck, flushing a bit in embarrassment -- especially when Pete pointed out that he had heard the caterwauling from an entire floor down. The heat in her cheeks had a habit of giving her a tint of blue around the typical red blush on her assumed visage. She was good at holding up her form under almost all circumstances, but sometimes she got too flustered to keep it perfect. Unfortunately, it usually made her look like she was struggling to get enough air if one didn't realize she was truly blue-skinned under all of her mutated disguises.
"You heard that?" she mumbled after a moment, wincing at how dumb that sounded. "No, of course you did, that's dumb of me. We were pretty loud, huh?" She let her shoulders lower a bit, a frown on her face.
She might as well let him in on it, though she wasn't sure how much he really knew. She kind of figured anyone coming in on that would assume what the argument was about if Vanessa was one of the ones arguing. She gave a little shrug. "I just... I was arguing with my team leader, Joshua Foley," she said. She had a feeling the rumor mill would wind up quickly anyway. Might as well get all the facts out now. "We don't see eye to eye on anything. He can't trust me, and I don't think most of my team... or most of the school... does, so he isn't inclined to change his way of thinking." She shook her head. "I thought I'd give it another try. Third time wasn't a charm, fifth time wasn't a charm... I don't think any time will be." She figured he would make the connection now of what the argument was about.
