Kevin just shrugged and waved away the compliment with one gloved hand. He was terrible at taking praise graciously anyway, since it was so rarely given to him. (Not that he deserved praise for anything much, but even if it was gratifying when people complimented his art, he found it difficult to know what to say in response.)
He shook his head in absolute refusal. "I'd know," he told her. "And -- plus, you don't want to be bouncing around with me in there. I'd --" He cut off his own objection, biting down on his tongue. Even if he knew logically that he didn't have to take so much care to stay away when it was only Cess around, it was hard to break the habit of keeping out of touching distance from everyone. Anyway, it really wasn't likely that all her clothing was synthetic, since she didn't have to think about that when she shopped for clothes, and getting too close could lead to... well, he wasn't going to think about that. "I guess I could watch you," he allowed finally.
