SORRY for getting to this so late! D:
Kevin didn't know how long it was before he looked up again; he'd been too absorbed in what he was doing to notice time slipping past. The completed project lay on his floor, just in need of a few more bits of wire he'd have to scrounge from the garage to hold it all together, and then a little cleaning up, but the metal dreamcatcher-like piece looked awesome, if he said so himself.
He stood up, dusting off his hands and rubbing at his knees, a little sore from kneeling on the carpet, and crossed to his window to peer out, trying to see whether it was safe for him to go outside and go to the garage. There was no one there -- no, wait, there was one figure down by the pool. A shiny figure who was all red and gold from the colors of the sunset sky. Kevin blinked at that. They made Cessily clean up after her own birthday party? It was really none of his business, but he'd told her they were friends, and, well... okay, he might as well do something nice for once, since it was her birthday.
He was down at the pool a moment later with his gloves back on, approaching Cessily diffidently. "Hi," Kevin greeted her, once he was close enough, and glanced around at the carnage left by a couple dozen partying teenagers. "Happy birthday or whatever. Want some help with that?"
