I think it's very admirable and responsible of you to want to find a job and , and I don't doubt that there is a lot you can learn by interacting with the world on a larger scale. That said, you can also just admit the extra money is nice. You can always gain experience later, after all.
What sort of job are you looking for? What field are you interested in? Do you want to work part- or full-time? Are you intending to keep this job once classes resume in the fall? You will have to prove that you are serious about this job (as well as prove to yourself that it actually makes you happy) over the summer before we will consider letting you keep the job and take classes.
As you pointed out, the worries brought up by the recent Weapon X incident has made us (the faculty, I mean) quite hesitant to grant underage students permission for extended, unsupervised stays off campus. Ultimately, I think your best bet would be to narrow your new job choices down to your favorite few choices, and then let me know. I can't say right now that you have much of a chance, because Professor Xavier isn't going to give you a blank check to take any job you want when you might inadvertently choose one that puts you at unnecessary risk.
So, my advice: look around online, check local newspapers, maybe go into town for a day sometime soon and look around to determine what open jobs you'd really like to apply for, and then get back to me. I'll be a one-person vetting committee, I suppose, and help you put together your "case" before we spring this on the Professor. Does that sound reasonable to you? If you need help with the job hunt or just need a ride into town or anything, please don't hesitate to let me know. I'd be happy to help however I can.
