Well Josh sure hadn't seen that coming. Before he could say anything else there was an intensely bright flash of light and he was knocked back into the wall with immense force. He'd taken the brunt of the blast to the chest and the front of his shirt had been totally burned off and was still smoking (much like the old X-box had), exposing his scorched skin beneath. His left arm was hanging limply at an odd angle from impact and he was pretty sure the back of his head was bleeding.
Josh blacked out almost instantly as his body reacted to the initial shock. Fortunately however he managed to fight his way back to the waking world after a few minutes, Alex's devastated voice barely reaching his ears. It actually took a moment or so after he regained consciousness for the pain to hit him. He groaned as his eyes blinked open and he tried to keep himself awake. He could heal himself, but it took conscious thought and effort to do so.
