Sofia had brought up that Laurie should teach her on the off chance she'd agree to do it some day. The fact that she wished to do it now delighted Sofia and all her plans for the day were now out the window. It was nothing all that important anyway! She skipped to the other side of the table to pick up the chair out from under the table, only to drag it the rest of the way around so that she could sit next to Laurie. But Sofia never was one for side-by-side activities. She pivoted the chair that she was facing Laurie now, taking a seat and hands excitedly contained in her lap. She continued to lean forward to watch the proceedings.
"You are so nice! Where do nice people like you come from?" Sofia asked, partially joking but honestly curious. She wasn't good with all of her states in America still, but she liked to think she knew most of them between living on both the east and west coasts (well, sort of the west coast).
She titled her head forward even more when Laurie began whispering, taking up more of the girl's personal space. Since she was translating some words to Spanish in her head still, she wanted to make sure she heard every last instruction. "Pick three ... colors? Oh, yes! That will be hard for me." Sofia laughed. "I like lots of colors. What colors do you recommend for me?" She smiled, but then quickly added. "I like purple!" It wasn't that Sofia was contrary, she simply couldn't make up her mind on certain things when she got excited.
