Jono in turn angeled himself towards Betsy a bit, following her example. He nodded in understanding before he remembered immediately afterward that he had to 'voice' it for her and thus added a telepathic "Right then." He gently placed his hand on top of hers and let his eyes fall closed, mentally bracing himself before he cautiously allowed the telepathic link between the two of them to open up a bit more so that more information could be shared mentally. "Here goes nothing," said. He'd become quite adept at filtering and projecting his own thoughts, but delving into other people's minds outside of that was still fairly new territory for him and he lacked the sort of fine tuned control that more experienced telepaths possessed.
At first it was difficult to try and discern which thoughts and feelings were Betsy's and which were just his own while he focused on just skimming the surface so that he wouldn't accidentally pick up on more than she had intended him to. Words and images and stray thoughts seemed to dart in and out too briefly for him to really understand. It was sort of like having a staticky phone conversation. Soon however he thought that he could feel the way that Betsy felt like she could relate to him and the relief and happiness that it gave her. As her emotions started to wash over him, he felt his own mood lightening as a result. It was strange sensation and sort of unnerving, though at the same time since it was a positive emotion it was kind of comforting as well.
After a minute or so he pulled back both mentally and physically and opened his eyes. As soon as he did so he felt Betsy's emotional influence fade. "Well. That's sort of a bit...invasive, innit?" he remarked, blinking up at her.
