When Tandy opened her eyes, she at first wasn't sure that she was awake. After all, opening her eyes had done absolutely nothing to rid herself of the darkness that usually only existed in front of her closed eyes... or in rooms that were really, really dark.
And her head hurt. That was probably the most noticeable thing right now- and she definitely had a large welt forming, which she let her hand reach up and touch gingerly. Still, the contact made her give a quiet, "Owwwwww..." However, as the sound rang out loudly in the silence, Tandy realized exactly how quiet wherever she was actually was. The way her words had sounded made her believe she must be in a room, and she stood up to look around, but bumped her head, earning another, sharper, "Ow!" Rubbing her head once more, she reached out and felt the cage, letting her hands wrap around the bars. She was in a dark room, in a cage, and the room was silent...
Oh dear Lord, this was not good. "Hey! Let me out! Can anyone hear me?! Help! HELP!!!!" Tandy let the last 'help' sound as long as she could, running out of breath and falling to her knees as she realized that no one was going to answer the door. Breathing deeply, out of breath now from the long yell, Tandy gave a loud moan as she realized this was a bad, bad situation to be in.
"Okay, okay, don't panic. I'm in a cage. In a room. Probably in that apartment building I was going into. I'm still in one piece, maybe I'll be okay. It's probably a mistake, they thought I was someone else... yeah, that must be it." Tandy assumed she must have been kidnapped for ransom- that's how it happened in the movies, right? So, once they realized that there was no one they could get to pay up for Tandy's release, it would all be okay!
Right? Right! At least, that's the hope Tandy was going to hold onto for now.
