Nori cried out in alarm when the boy almost dropped her, flailing with her arms in hopes that she could somehow break her fall. She wouldn't bounce, after all, and broken bones would be a real impediment to getting out of here as fast as she wanted to. He caught her, though, jerking her back up, and Nori stared back at him with wide eyes, wanting to be anywhere other than here right now.
"I don't know!" she shouted right back at Julian. "It's not my fault, okay? I'll get out of here as soon as you let me down!" She twisted in midair as much as she could, trying to get to the folding knife in her boot. She didn't like using her knives as threats, but sometimes she really didn't have a choice, and maybe flashing her sharp edges would scare him into dropping her so she could make her getaway. She couldn't quite get into her boot, though, so that plan probably wasn't going to materialize anytime soon.
