When Brian arrived Betsy had been off reading and eating a late lunch. She still didn't have a mentor, so her afternoons could be spent really as she pleased, though she had intended to use this afternoon to talk to one of her potential mentors. As she finished her sandwich and found her bookmark, closing her book gently as she felt around for her bag, she felt that something was wrong, and for some reason she had the feeling it had to do with her brother. Something was upsetting Brian, and Betsy could not figure out why it suddenly seemed so near to her. Maybe it was because of their phone call-
Oh, right, she needed to call home. Brian must be worried because they hadn't spoken since Sunday, when she finally confessed about the attack on the mansion. Sure, she had played it down to not be so serious- she started with an intruder, then eventually had to reveal there were 'a few' intruders, and settled on saying that she was perfectly fine, not counting the cut which was now all healed up as anything worth mentioning.
And because if Brian heard someone had shot at her- and even managed to almost land a hit!- he would have flown here immediately. Overall, the conversation went well, or so Betsy thought, though her lack of phone call might be worrying her brothers. She decided to swing by her room and put away her stuff before making said phone call and stopping by the offices to discuss her training, and headed inside, already missing the sun as the cool A/C hit her skin. However, she stopped, puzzled as she felt Brian's presence stronger than ever- well, at least stronger than she had ever felt it here. The only times she had ever felt him so near was-
"Oh bloody hell." Betsy felt where her door should have been and noticed it now hanging open, possibly broken. She would have been alarmed if not for the hurried sounds in her room and her brother's aura, which she would recognize anywhere. Stepping into the room slowly, she smiled happily, knowing it must be bad if Brian had bothered coming all the way here but unable to keep in her excitement at being with her twin once more. "Brian! What are you- are you-" Betsy paused, beaming brightly and settling for a simple, "I missed you, but what are you doing here?" She set down her bag and went to hug her brother, not able to see her belongings being packed away and thus still in the dark as to why he was there.
