When Betsy was blinded by an attack that was meant for him, Brian vowed that he would never let anything bad happen to her again. He found that vow increasingly harder to keep. His sister was so far away that even though he could sense she was in danger, he could do very little to help her. At first, she claimed that all of her feelings of anxiety he felt through their shared link was just her being nervous about being in a new school so far from home. He begrudgingly accepted that answer, but a week ago he felt more than just anxiety and nervousness. He felt actual fear. Betsy avoided telling him what was wrong until Sunday. For a whole week she kept an attack on her new home secret from him! Brian had never been more angry. Not at her, but himself. He promised to protect her and he had a fail...again.

That was unacceptable. He wished he could just throw on his costume and fly to America to bring her home, but that would cost him his secret identity, possibly putting Betsy at more risk. Instead he scheduled the earliest flight he could and arrived in America Tuesday morning. It didn't take him much time to get to the institute. He wandered the halls until he found the dorm room with Braddock on the name plate.

He knocked on the door, but no one answered. It wasn't hard to break the lock on the door with his super strength. He went to his sister's side of the room and starting pack up her things. He decided she would be coming home with him this very evening.
