who: Sam and Angelo when: Thursday afternoon where: Outside the foyer what: Sam Guthrie is feeling bad about the damage he caused the school during the attack and is trying to single-handedly rebuild the wall in the foyer.
Sam Guthrie had been stressing out a little about everything that had happened. He was worried about the safety of his siblings, both of him hadn't been able to evacuate scot free from the invasion. He was worried about his college classes, not being able to attend them at the local university with everyone under house arrest for their protection. And as pathetic as it was, he was worried about all the damage he had caused to Xavier's school. There hadn't seemed to be much harm other than a few scorch marks and blown out windows, yet there was a giant hole in the foyer and one of the side hallways of the main campus thanks to Sam. He aimed to fix that and right now he had all the time in the world.
While the students couldn't go anywhere, people could still come to Xavier's. Within a day, the staff must have already assessed the damage and placed an order for the necessary parts. When Sam strolled outside on Wednesday, the school already had several delivery trucks with materials ranging from lumber to drywall to glass to carpets. Sam had helped several of the male professors and older students sort through the materials, transporting them to the specific rooms or buildings where they were needed. Thanks to that endeavor, Sam had a nice little pile of all the materials he'd need right in from of them.
Thankfully, working in the mines and helping to build a few farms as a younger teenager had helped Sam learn a lot about construction and architecture. He had already found the necessary pieces and had started the framework, hammering wood and welding metal where it needed to go according to what he could make of the pieces in the damaged wall. Already sweating from being outside for a few hours, Sam continued to hammer into place several metal rods and screws. He was preparing all the trusses and slots where the windows would soon be inserted in the mostly glass foyer.
