who: Rahne Sinclair, OTA
when: Sunday morning
where: Pool
what: Happy to be home after last night, Rahne takes advantage of the sun to read by the pool.
Rahne Sinclair had been delighted to get out of the Marquee. In addition to not being her usual scene, she was embarrassed that she had verbally insulted a drunk man in front of everyone. She needed to reign in her self control, even now. It was a blessing she had never had alcohol before, because she had enough control issues as it was without being drunk. But today was a new day, and Rahne hadn't been able to sleep past right after sunrise no matter how late she and Betsy went to bed. With nothing to do and wishing to enjoy the nice weather, she decided to lay out by the recently reopened pool behind Xavier's and by the basketball court.
Despite the fact she wasn't planning on swimming, she was still dressed in a plain green one piece swimming suit and had a sweater tied around her waist in case it got too cold. She could feel it definitely wouldn't though. She placed her outdated sunglasses down in front of her eyes and clung to her towel and book as she picked a spot around the pool to read. She chose the deep end, imagining she'd have less traffic there to contend with her attention as she read.
Curling up on the beach chair with a faded Disney Princess towel underneath her that she had for years (and had survived the trip to Virginia Beach), Rahne Sinclair cracked open the book she had decided to entertain herself with. It was a paperback edition of Nicholas Sparks' The Last Song, which had just been adapted into the movie of the same name. She wished to read the book first in case she happened to watch the movie in the days to come with friends. Rahney could already feel her skin getting warm. It was a great feeling, but she was dooming herself to ithcy irritability later when she burned within five minutes.
