Who: Horace Slughorn and Roland Harper What: The tree ruined by Peeves a few days back is restored to its former glory. When: Tuesday evening (December 13) Where: Great Hall Status: In progress
Peeves was getting more creative, Professor Slughorn thought to himself. Throwing paint or rancid soup were old routines at this point, but combining paint and rancid soup? Slughorn was hardly a fan of the school's resident poltergeist, but he had to admire his inventiveness and sheer cheek. He had collected students for his club for less.
Still, it had been no easy task restoring the tree Peeves had ruined. It was suggested early on that they should forget this task and find a replacement tree instead, but that would have probably stopped Horace and Filius Flitwick from doing some little experiments with an anti-poltergeist charm they had been discussing for a while.
Maybe Minerva was right, Slughorn thought with a chuckle. He and Filius were starting to act like two kids locked inside Honeydukes whenever something was robbed or damaged.
The tree was back to normal now - though unfortunately without the anti-poltergeist charm since it accidentally backfired, covering the Charms professor's face with bubblegum-like pink goo - so the decorations at the Great Hall would finally be complete. The only thing left was to put the ornaments back on, but because Filius needed to wash off the pink goo Slughorn was left to supervise the last touches of the decorations, aided this time by one of the prefects rather than the Charms club en masse. It was only a small tree, after all.
However, young Mr Harper seemed to be late. Slughorn was not worried, though. Harper was one of his Slytherins, and therefore handpicked by him. He had the utmost confidence that he'd be there soon.
