In what, was really only a second or two, but seemed like forever until Declan turned around. Time seemed like it was ticking by so slowly as she stood there anxiously going over possible outcomes. The most prominent being that not only would she have screwed up to start with but that she would totally ruin their friendship.
Or what was left of it, she thought worryingly.
Then in that moment when she was actually facing Declan and he asked what she was doing she faltered. All those words she'd been practicing, going over in her head so that she could say sorry, flew from her mind and she was left feeling troubled because she suddenly didn't know what to say.
"I... I wanted to see you," she managed to stammer out, trying not to immediately look to the ground.
She was trying to be strong. Although all she seemed to be able to do was fidget with her hands nervously. Su couldn't tell how Declan might've been feeling... or rather she couldn't tell if he was mad at her. And it wouldn't take a genius to figure out that he was probably still upset with her. But after the way she'd been, she really couldn't blame him for getting upset.
