RP: Dating Daisy DATE: August 1, 2030 CHARACTERS: Eddie Rosier, Daisy Bones Radford, Kathryn Bones Radford, Jamie Bones Radford, & Henry Radford. LOCATION: Daisy's flat, Eddie's flat SUMMARY: Eddie gets a lesson in jam making. And Bones Radford family dynamics. COMPLETION: Complete
Daisy had had a lovely morning with Kathryn and Jamie, picking berries at the Dunstan farm in Helga's Hill. They'd even managed to bring home enough berries for jam despite the fact that Jamie couldn't stop putting two in his mouth for each one in his bucket. And the fact that Kathryn had seemed more interested in squealing happily as Bruno Dunstan chased her around the fields than in actually picking anything at all. And, to be honest, the fact that Daisy kept getting a bit daydreamy and gazing off into the distance thinking about the night before.
They'd come back to the flat above Heaven Scent just after one o'clock to get cleaned up before their father came to pick up the little ones around half-one (which left Daisy a few minutes to fix her hair and change her dress before Eddie arrived). But half-one came and went without any sign of Henry. And so did quarter-to-two. Finally five minutes before Eddie was due to arrive, an owl from Henry appeared apologizing for a meeting running over and promising to come take the wee ones off Daisy's hands within half and hour.
Luckily Daisy was too busy mediating a squabble to obsess over what the lateness could possibly mean for overlapping arrivals.
"Jamie," she said, frowning gently at her five-year-old littlest sibling. "Did you hit Kathryn? You know that it is never okay to hit anyone, and especially not your family. Families love one another."
"She's been saying all day that Brigitte is going to kiss me! I don't want Brigitte to kiss me! YUCK."
Daisy could not see the smallest, least bold Dunstan child taking the initiative to kiss anyone anytime soon, but she didn't think that would appease her brother. "You don't ever have to kiss anyone you don't want to. Especially not now. You're all too little for kissing." She turned to her sister. "You shouldn't tease Jamie. You both need to say you're sorry, okay?"
Before either of them could argue, there was a knock on the door that thoroughly distracted her.
