"It's possible. I don't claim to know either way, but imagine this happening in the middle of the day. Those running the government would be in London. Those working at St. Mungo's would be in London. Those half-bloods and Muggleborns tend to live in cities. Even the people in Godric's Hollow would be hit. Who's left? Hogsmeade and those of us with the fancy houses in the middle of nowhere, with no one around. With Diagon Alley gone, where do people meet? Hogwarts. Even the Gryffindors would know that it's what you protect. You think Skynet changes priorities, but I see it as trying to preserve who you know, your community."
Draco mimicked Remus' position. "I've never felt magic in the air or the tree. In fact, I'm not one to enjoy being outside," he said, chuckling, "But how could you feel it here, with just destroyed buildings surrounding us? I'm not saying that wizards exist, I'm saying that I could see them hiding if they existed." He knew that Remus was right, but it still didn't sit well, possibly because it felt too much like the bus. "How do you even create society with no literature, no music, nothing shared that ties people together? Even if you find some book somewhere it'll never be your book, the one that meant something to you."
He snorted. "Only if we want to kill our companions in the process? Then yes, but I'm not giving up just yet."
