Mac followed along easily because really, what the hell else was she going to do? She had no idea what war was like, having only ever seen it on tv or in the movies. And she was glad of that. As much as she found the AI technology in this world to be utterly fascinating (and she would definitely love to check out some of that tech), that didn’t mean she liked the result of it. She just couldn’t stop thinking that there must be a way to adjust the AI so that they weren’t so… murderous. Even though she realized that was likely what the people who created it had thought as well.
“You mean other than the bus stealing me from my life, and then stealing the few friends I made away, only to have me ‘help’ in a war zone of my nightmares?” Her tone was calm and matter of fact, no trace of being upset, but she most definitely was. Her face fell after a moment. “Sorry about that. I’m just a little pent up. I’m okay, or as okay as I can be here.”
