Mac could swear she saw something Bucky’s expression, annoyance or disappointment or… she didn’t know what really, but something had changed in that moment. Likely it was something she’d done, this was why she was so selective on who she talked to. Or at least she had been until the bus. Since arriving, she had actively tried to talk to new people, introducing herself to any of the new people that arrived after her. All it had really gotten her was losing two friends.
But, she did still want to help. Just because she wasn’t good at making friends didn’t mean she was heartless and the people here clearly needed a lot of help. “Sure,” she said, trying to sound more casual than she felt. She still couldn’t imagine what good she could do in these tunnels. Now, if she got her hands on some of the tech in this world, maybe she’d feel a tad more helpful, but down here none of that seemed to be possible.
Following just behind him, she glanced up at Bucky curiously. He seemed to think there was something she was capable with helping with, at least. And maybe at least whatever it was would keep her hands and mind busy until they got out of there.
