His father had always apologized to his mother for thumping her, after all, but that had never stopped him from doing it again. God, was he turning into his father?
Severus wanted to wipe her tears, but he didn't think she'd let him. When she started to walk away again, however, he followed. "I'm sorry, Mary," he repeated, falling into step beside her. "I was jealous -- I am jealous -- terribly jealous. I should have said before, but I thought you'd only say that I was being silly."
