"No, I don't know that, Mary!" Severus shouted suddenly, the outburst that had been fighting to escape him finally finding its opportunity. It vaguely registered that she'd said something else, but he heard nothing past "I went flying with him" because it was all drowned out once he started yelling. "I don't know that nothing happened, because you went flying with him, and the next thing I know, I'm hearing that you hugged him, and what's worse is I had to hear it all from Rita Skeeter!" He spat the name out as if it were rancid meat.
His jaw clenched again, even as he dug his fingernails into his palms. Not again! This couldn't be happening to him again! A new life, a second chance, and still -- Potter was stealing the woman he loved. It wasn't bloody fair! He'd given up on Lily -- he'd resigned himself to losing her to him, fair and square -- and the second he found somebody else, Potter managed to get his filthy hands on her as well. It was all Severus could do not to turn and punch the stone wall, even if he knew doing so would mean breaking his hand.
