Who: Lily, Mary, and Severus What: Talking Things Through When: Monday evening, after dinner Where: The Great Hall and ? Rating: Probably low
Lily hadn't seemed angry any longer when they spoke via journal, so that much was promising. And she wanted to speak to him and Mary together, which could only mean she was coming to accept the idea of their dating, even if she still didn't particularly like it. Avoiding her had been miserable -- for all involved, he was sure.
They hadn't actually discussed Lily since that first Sunday morning, but that didn't mean it needed to be said. Mary had lost her best friend, and it showed in her face every time she looked at Lily. Though Severus had much more experience avoiding Lily when one counted his sixth and seventh years, that hadn't made it any easier for him, either.
But now Lily wanted to talk. That had to be good, didn't it?
Severus again found himself barely picking at his food, as he had the morning before his and Mary's first date. Serving himself anything has been foolishly optimistic again, and he mostly just pushed the food around his plate, in between repeated glances toward the Gryffindor table, at both girls in turn. Hopefully this talk would go all right.
