Who: Meredith Harkness, Tavish Harkness, Devon Harkness-Hart Where: Campus, Dorms, Shopping Mall When: early April What: Finding sister, chatting and going shopping. Rating: NC 17 to be safe
He was wandering the grounds when he first saw her. Tavish looked at Meredith. "It's like some twisted mirror."
Meredith raised an eyebrow. “Not as twisted as you may think.”
"Sorry, I didn't mean to be insulting. I just... you look a hell of a lot like me.”
“I would imagine so if we are siblings...from the looks of it...twins.”
"But... Dad never mentioned I had a sister. And why wouldn't we have been raised together?"
"I was found and raised by UNIT."
Tavish blinked. "What?" Had he heard right? "UNIT?"
Meredith nodded.
"No way dad would allow that, cute hats or no."
"They never told Torchwood of my existence. I was...top secret."
"Oh." Tavish replied, not knowing what else he could say to that. "Did they... treat you okay?"
Meredith shrugged. "As well as could be expected."
Tavish frowned.
Meredith frowned back. "What?"
"I... well... I guess I wonder why Martha never said anything. And I don't like the idea that you might have been mistreated growing up."
She shrugged. "I wasn't mistreated. Merely isolated for the better good of humanity."
"Isolated? What did they lock you up in a room by yourself for years on end?" He remembered hearing about what happened to Auntie Tosh. He also didn't like the idea of for the better good of humanity.
"No. Merely not allowed to leave whatever UNIT base I was on at the time."
"So no hanging out with the other kids then." Tavish said. He had gone to school with loads of them.
"Sometimes some of the kids that were one of the soldiers but never for very long."
It sounded very lonely to him. He moved towards her. "Well ... nice to meet you sister." He pulled her into a hug.
Meredith blinked in surprise before hugging him back in an unsure manner.
Tavish hugged just a bit tighter and longer because of her uncertainty. Then he pulled back. "There are a lot of things I have to tell you."
"O..okay?" She replied uneasily.
"Well the Master is here teaching, and so is Dad... Jack." Tavish said.
She looked confused.
"The Master was the timelord who mixed Jack's DNA with his own to make us?"
"They do not know me. So what does it matter?"
"Er, well the Master will know you are part timelord if he runs across you. He can feel those things. Also, I imagine Jack might have some questions if he sees you since you look like a female version of me."
"Actually all the timelords here might have questions." He mused.
"Timelords? How many?"
"The Master, and version 4, 9 and 10 of the Doctor."
"I see." Meredith looked faintly uncomfortable now.
"Yeah, and we have a lot of family about."
"We do?" She looked excited.
Tavish nodded. "We have a half sister, and like six or seven cousins, an Uncle, our dad, our father..." He paused to think. "I consider Tad another parent even if we aren't related by biology. He's with Dad." He continued after some consideration. "And well... I suppose the Doctor is kind of family in that we're the last of the race kind of way." He also added. "And I think there are like three versions of him running about... and his daughter."
The girl looked over whelmed by the count. "Wow..."
Tavish grinned. "Yeah. Kind of gets to me sometimes too. Seems I turn around and find another relative. Some I'm closer to than others."
"Who's your favorites so far?"
"Dad, Tad, Devon, you." He grinned at her. "Still uneasy about our father but I'm giving it a chance."
Meredith tilted her head. "You hardly know me...How can I be one of your favorites?'
"You’re my SISTER, my twin apparently. That's... that's something big, important. Obviously you have to be up on that list."
The girl offered him a wavering, surprised smile.
Tavish grinned, "So, what would my devilishly gorgeous sister be studying?"
"Medical and Military sciences with a minor in piano...You?"
He blinked. "Wow. Computers and Theatre." She had a lot more ambition than him. "Dad teaches Military sciences with Tad helping out." He paused. "And you might run into our father because he teaches some of the music classes." He brightens up. "I play violin and guitar."
It wasn’t that she was ambitious. It was just what she was used too. Though she would admit to loving anything medical and musical. "Both have great sounds...Acoustic or Electric?"
"Both actually on both instruments." He shrugged. "After learning on acoustic it was easy to switch to electric. I love the sounds I can get from either." He chuckled. "Guess I just can't decide very well between the things I love."
Meredith's blue eyes glittered. "Not a bad thing."
Something suddenly occurred to Tavish. "You've never had Tad's coffee!" He grabbed her hand. "Mine isn't as good, but it's pretty close..."
"Coffee?" She looked down at Tavish's hand. "You mean the caffeine drink that most the soldiers drank...no. I had a strict diet."
Tavish stopped and looked at her aghast. "You've never had coffee? At All?" Strict diet? The more he heard about her upbringing the less he liked it.
"No. I haven't." She frowned in faint confusion.
"Okay then..." He paused, then smiled again. "Then this will be a REAL treat."
"Okay..." Meredith tilted her head.
Tavish took her to his room. He gestured to the bed and chair at the desk. "Make yourself comfortable." He tooled around with making coffee.
Meredith smoothed her skirt down as she sat, looking around.
It was a neat enough room. The bed was made and clothes were put away properly. A mess of computer parts and wires and such sat on the desk as well as a pile of messy papers. His musical instruments were in the closet.
She tapped her fingers against Tavish's desk in the sound of a song before picking up one the papers and reading it for a moment. He tilted his head trying to place the song. The paper she had was a copy of the play he was in now. Underneath was various pieces of homework, some music scores, and a weird sketch of some machine design . Tavish finished his work and handed her a cup. "Give this a try. We can always add cream, milk or sugar later to see if you like that better." It was easier to add than subtract.
It was Beethoven's 5th symphony that she had been tapping out. Meredith took the drink and frowns faintly, sniffing the dark fluid before taking a small drink. She wrinkled her nose at the bitter taste, having more of a sweet tooth then not.
Tavish noticed the look and pulled out some sugar and cream.
Meredith watched him curiously.
"Do you like sweet? Or is it just too harsh?"
"Sweet. It taste fine...Just bitter."
Tavish shook his head. "People take coffee different ways to match their taste. You can't properly enjoy it unless you know which mix you like best." He nodded to the sugar. "Try adding it bit by bit until it's the way you like it."
Meredith did so until she found her own combination and was drinking happily.
Tavish grinned and bounced lightly on his feet even as he siped his own cuppa. "Good yes? I've totally ruined you for lesser coffee's now. You'll just have to rely on Tad or me to make you some." He joked.
"In considerations I have never had coffee before I don't know what a lesser coffee tastes like." She grinned. "I shall have to thank you how ever and bring you one of the cheesecakes I make."
"You make cheesecake?" He said with a grin. It made him happy that she apparently had a bit of normal in her life.
"Of course. Cookies and other baked good too."
"Hmmm... we may have a basis for a trade economy here."
Meredith took another sip of her coffee, raising an eyebrow questioningly.
"I make you the goodie coffee, you make me the goodie food. We get fat and wired together."
The girl laughed softly. "Sounds like a plan. I need to find out where I'm going to be roomed."
"Yup. And let me know so I can visit and bring my friends over and threaten them not to date you or I'll break their... something." He nodded to the door over. "Devon lives right next door."
"Date?" Meredith raised her eyebrow. "Doubt that'll happen." She tilted her head. "The cousin yes?"
"Yes, our cousin." He looked at Meredith. "Why do you doubt that? With looks like yours, they'll be people lining up for miles for the chance to date you."
"I have no interest in doing such." She shrugged. After all she'd probably end up returning to UNIT after her studies were over so why bother?
"Huh." Tavish gave her a strange look. "Well," he went back to clean up the machine. "You might just change your mind. This is university, you should be open to new experiences."
She noticed the look. "What's the look for?"
"Just... well, dating is nice." And he was raised to be an outgoing and friendly person. The idea of NOT dating seemed, strange to him. "And university is the best opportunity for meeting a lot of different people, experiment, learn to find what you like." He nodded to her drink. "Like coffee."
She shifted uncomfortably. "Oh...Okay."
He sat down. "You've never been on a date have you?"
Meredith looked away. "No. I haven't."
Tavish patted her on the knee. "I'll help you out there, and Devon can give some pointers too." He shook his head. "Just don't go to dad for advice, though Ianto, Tad was helpful for me."
"Such relationships were discouraged while I was growing. Studies were more important."
Tavish frowned for a second before hiding it. "Well, you can study and have a relationship at the same time, trust me. We're brilliant." He paused before asking. "Was there... someone who caught your attention, a boy, ... a girl?"
"One my instructors." She murmured.
"Well, you like them older... though it's not a good idea to date someone who is in authority over you... at least not until you have a bit more experience and know it's still what you want."
"He was only two years older then me."
"Really? What did he teach?"
"Piano. The one non UNIT personnel that taught me."
He was kind of surprised they let her take such a 'fluff' class. "Oh... so like a man not in uniform? We have plenty of those here."
"He was fired cause I kissed him on the cheek."
"What? Really?" Tavish was full out frowning now.
She shrugged. "Such relationships were discouraged."
"Well... when you find someone you like don't sleep with them on the first date." He was pretty sure her lack of experience with any others would make her susceptible to a lot of scum. He'd have to be ready to scare off the major bastards.
The girls scoffed. "I know that."
"Hey, that's pretty much the advice dad gave ME." Tavish threw back. He didn't add what his dad had added. `Save something for the second date`
"I'm better off just not being interested. Eventually I'll have to return to UNIT."
"HAVE to?" Tavish asked. "You're of AGE. You should be allowed to make that decision yourself."
Meredith gave him a surprised look. "Age...decision...?"
"Yes, at a certain age you are considered an adult and capable of deciding what to do with your own life."
"Even if I'm a possible danger to humanity?"
"You are NOT!" He refuted.
Meredith looked away.
"Neither of us are." Tavish stalked about the room. "Why? I mean... the Doctor WORKED for Unit for a while... "
"That's why I have to return."
Tavish stopped pacing confused. "Huh?"
"If I stay with UNIT I won't be a danger. I'll be able to serve humanity."
Tavish's jaw dropped open. He closed it. "There are a LOT of ways to serve humanity other than UNIT. Also... not being a danger to and having to serve humanity are two different things." He never felt obligated to join UNIT or Torchwood, though he had considered the later from time to time.
She shrugged. It was what she was raised to believe...what she was raised to do. "It's all I've known."
"Well, give it some time. You've got some years of study in front of you. When it's all done, it'll be your decision what you want to do."
Meredith bowed her head. "I guess."
"I know." Tavish said confidently.
She looked up at him, feeling uncommonly young and frankly unintelligent next to her brother.
"You're a Timelord and a Harkness." He continued. "We make our own paths in life."
"Every time I have tried I was corrected."
Tavish smirked. "And are there any of those people here now?"
"No...I don't think so."
"None of them, and loads of family to back your play."
"If said family outside of you...likes me."
"Pshaw. What's not to like. We're family. Dad'll love you. Not sure about what our father would say but as I'm not sure about our Father myself, we won't worry about that much."
"And what about the many cousins?"
"I'm not even sure if most of them like ME. Devon will be cool with you. Actually you probably have a lot in common. She's taking Military studies as well."
"She is?" Meredith looked at the door of Tavish's dorm.
He nodded. "Yup."
"Is that her major?"
"No..." Tavish said as he tried to think of what Devon was majoring in. "Astronomy and astrophysics I think." He shrugged. "She just decided to take the class because she wanted to."
Meredith frowned and tilted her head. "She sounds odd."
"She's great." Tavish replied. "And odd... but so are most of us."
Meredith looked thoughtful. "She...here?"
"Next door." He stood up and lightly knocked on her door before swinging it open. "Dev! You decent? Or at least dressed?"
"Why do you ask after you open the door?" Devon asked from her bed, sitting up. Her outfit was strangely color coordinated to her cast. "Anyways. I'm never decent. Hart blood assures that."
"That's why I asked if you were even dressed. Anyways, not like I care if you’re in the buff. My sister might mind though..." he tossed out.
"Sister?" Devon bounced of her bed, rushed over to Tavish’s side and looked over his shoulder. "Hey!"
Meredith blinked in surprise.
Tavish grinned and nodded. "Twin sister apparently." He smirked. "Separated at birth, or soon after... very soap opery."
"No kidding." She smiled and offered her hand to Meredith who took it. "Nice to meet you. Devon Harkness Hart."
"Meredith Harkness." She replied.
"I KNEW you two would hit it off." Tavish said with a wide grin. "I'll go make coffee!"
"Forgive him...He's excitable but a good guy." Devon joked.
Meredith smiled slightly.
Tavish returned soon handling three cups. He handed one to each girl. "So... Have you spilled all my dark secrets yet?"
"What...like the one about you liking leather corset and dommy outfits?" Devon teased.
Meredith choked on her coffee.
Tavish turned beet red. "That wasn't an invitation." He told her sulkily. "And it was YOUR corset and leather pants that I tried on."
"I know. But you looked good in them. We should go clubbing with you wearing that outfit. Whatcha think Meredith?" Devon asked.
"I've....never been clubbing before." Meredith answered.
"Maybe I should buy an outfit of my own. Wouldn't want to be worried about what I might get on them." He gave Devon a quick glance not to freak about Meredith's situation.
Dev noticed the glance and smiled warmly. "We'll keep it tame.” She looked back at Tavish. "You can use mine. Mum and Unka Ioan and Ianto taught me many tricks on cleaning various fluids and such."
Tavish face palmed. "I SO didn't need to know that."
"Neither did I but I got told anyways." Devon shrugged.
"Various...fluids and ...such?" Meredith asked.
Tavish looked a bit uneasy. "Oh, drinks, blood, sweat... sexual excretions." He was blushing now.
It was Devon's turn to face palm. "Beer too."
Meredith looked between the two.
"That falls under drinks." Tavish squeaked.
"So can spunk." Devon teased.
"I didn't add piss to the list." Tavish tossed out, not wanting to answer that.
"And certainly not vomit." Dev grinned.
Meredith shook her head. "Are you two always like this?"
"Ah... yes, pretty much." Tavish replied.
"You two are...weird..." Meredith chuckled.
Tavish grinned. "Yup!" Then he promised. "And we will infect you too."
"We are legion, resistance is futile." Devon smirked.
Meredith laughed. "Oh no! Save me!"
"Legion? Yeah, pretty damn close..." He turned to Meredith. "Mwa ha ha... there is no hope. Surrender to our insanity now or suffer the consequences later." He made a face. "Hrmm... that doesn't sound right."
Meredith giggled and Devon shook her head. "Keep working on it Coz."
"Sorry, my evil genes seem to have snagged on something somewhere."
"The Harkness genes most likely. Con and evil counteract each other."
"They do? Gotta remember to thank dad sometime."
"Unless you’re my Papa."
"I thought you told me your dad was not so bad."
"He's not." Devon smiled. "But he makes his own rules thank you muchly."
"Who's her dad?"
"John Hart." Tavish said. "And making your own rules is a Harkness trait too." He smiled. "Or at least ignoring the rules you don't like."
Meredith shook her head, not knowing the name.
"Harkness is ignoring the ones you don't like or impedes. Hart is making new ones that suit you." Devon explained.
"Oh, well glad to have you around to clear that up for me." Tavish joked.
Devon snorted. "Love you too."
"Of course you do." Tavish grinned
"Are you sure you two aren't siblings." Meredith asked jokingly.
"Her mom is our dad's brother." Tavish explained. "But yeah, we kind of act like siblings a lot."
"It's cute." Meredith smiled faintly, wishing she had grown up with Tavish.
"And soon you will be giving me the same shit as she does." Tavish announced. "Oh... how I shall suffer."
"Just wait till our periods sync up..." Devon smirked.
Tavish looked a little green.
"Actually. I don't have a period." Meredith shrugged.
Tavish looked shocked and confused. "What? Why not?"
"Specially created birth control." Meredith answered.
Tavish looked upset. "That's not right. Not at ALL."
"It really isn't...Who were you raised by?" Devon looked horrified.
"UNIT...What's wrong with it?" Meredith looked faintly confused.
"It's just... wrong." Tavish is a bit at a loss to explain. "It's... taking away something very personal and important and not giving you a choice and ..."
Meredith was getting upset and worried. "It's...just the way it's always been."
"They're treating you like some...weapon!" Devon complained.
Tavish looked ill again. "Like you’re not a person." he whispered out. He had another thought. His head snapped up. "Is it permanent? Or can it be changed back?" There was a huge difference between birth control and sterilization.
"It's reversible." Meredith answered softly.
He relaxed down from a raging anger that had been lurking in the dark should the answer have been any different. He let a long breath out. "Okay then... okay... things could be worse."
Devon didn't take the news quite the same but didn't say anything. "It's still a little fucked. Is it a pill or a shot and do you have any with you?"
"It's a shot...And I have two left. For two months." She replied.
"Ah. Good. May I see them?" Devon asked sweetly.
Tavish looked at Devon, suspicious at her voice. He knew that voice. She was up to something. "Were they planning on sending more?"
Meredith reached into her bag to hand the shots to Devon. "I don't know. I haven't been able to get in touch with my care taker."
Devon studied to bluish fluid.
Tavish looked over at the fluid, curious. He had never seen anything like it. "Hmmm... and it's just up to you to take it all by yourself?" How did they know she just wouldn't do it?
The teen nodded. "Yes."
Devon glanced at Tavish, silently giving him the choice to her next action.
Tavish sighed. He looked back at Devon, then glanced to Meredith. She had enough choices taken away from you. "So then, it's your decision on whether to take them or not." He reasoned.
Meredith shrugged. "I suppose so."
"Well, for the most part. You only have the decision for two months if they can't get back in touch with you." Tavish crossed his arms. "Have you ever considered not taking them?" He looked at the blueness. "Do you even know what is in that?"
"No...I really haven't considered not taking them...They've been giving them to me since I reached puberty or our equivalent of such. It's...Just the way it's always been." She shifted. "And no...I don't know what's in it."
Tavish was getting very tired of that phrase. The way it's always been. He frowned. "I want Dad to analyze that stuff before you take anymore, if you'll agree to it." He also wanted to get her used to make decisions about her own life. "Find out what they've been putting into you." Then he gave a concession. "And that way if you want to keep taking it, they might be able to reproduce some if you can't get to your contact in time."
Meredith glanced at the shots and nodded. "I've been curious as well. And I don't need them for awhile...I took one yesterday."
Twitch. OK. "Well then," he said out loud. "We go find dad, you get to say hi, and he gets his people to find out what this blue shit really is." And what it was really doing to her. He wouldn't put it past them to have something extra in it. Something to keep her from being too much trouble.
The girl nodded slightly, pigtail bouncing slightly with the gesture. "Alright."
Devon handed the shots to Tavish and hugged Meredith, who seemed surprised at the sudden affection. "Want me to go with?"
Tavish grinned at his sister. "Oh man, dad's gonna spaz. I love not being the one responsible for that."
Mere raised an eyebrow, a look of faint amusement on her features. "And why pray tell would he 'spaz'?"
"Another kid of his showing up?" Tavish grinned, even as he thought that Jack might not be too happy about who had taken her. Hell Tavish wasn't happy about who raised her. "He's got another girl too... our half sister... apparently she's a handful."
Devon snorted. "She's a Harkness. What do you expect? We're all hand fulls. Have you not met all my half sibs. Hell they've got magic to boot!"
Meredith shook her head. "Most younger children have more energy to spare then we do."
"Magic? Hey... my friend Raven's got magic." He looked at Meredith. "Oi, you make me sound old... I'm not old..."
"Oh? What kind of magic? Like...wizard type magic?" Dev looked interested.
"No...By time lord standards we are young. Very very young." Meredith said.
"Er... there are different kinds? She said she was a witch." He nodded to their relative ages. "Practically infants. Course the only timelords I've heard of were like 900 years old." He shook his head. "And let's not even get into how old DAD is."
"Yeah there's a couple of types...” Devon snickered then. "Unka Jack is in the 'of thousands' range."
Meredith blinked. "How can a human be older then a time lord?"
"Dad's... a special case." He looked at her. "Surprised UNIT didn't ever mention it. I thought they knew."
The girl shrugged. "I was just told who my parents were. Only the Master's background was gone over extensively."
Tavish face palmed. "Great." She got educated on the parent he was told nothing about, and the one who was the worse of the two. "I didn't even know he WAS my father until recently." He told her. "Jack Harkness is... well, he can't die... or rather he dies and comes back. He's... a fixed point in time?" He pulled out the memory of what his dad told him ages ago. "Yeah, that's it... a fixed point in time."
Meredith frowned. "Is he about six feet, dark hair, blue eyes with a thing for wearing an old RAF great coat?"
"That's him!" Tavish exclaimed. "Though you missed handsome as hell, just like me."
The teen raised an eyebrow. "I saw him a couple days ago while signing for classes...He felt...odd."
"Yeah, dad does that." Tavish gave an unconcerned shrug. "I was raised by him so I don't notice it much at all." Then he mentioned. "Though I've heard it really freaked out the Doctor when Dad was first made that way."
"It's unsettling. Nothing should be so...permanent." Meredith commented.
Well at least she didn't call him wrong. "It may take a while to get used to." He allowed. "But it's not really anything he asked for, or can change."
Meredith nodded in understanding.
Dev smiled. "You'll find that he uses it to his advantage to protect his family and loved ones...even Earth itself from time to time. Such a gift was given to the right person."
"Sounds like." Mere smiled.
"Meredith?" Tavish was suddenly curious. "Did you ever meet a woman named Martha Jones?" UNIT was a big group... it was possible she hadn't known. He'd like to think that. He didn't want to think she had been keeping his sister a secret from himself and his dad.
"I only caught a bare glance at her when I was younger. I was being transferred to a different base while she was being transferred in. I heard she was an excellent medical officer."
Hmmm... Martha arriving and her leaving? Was that done on purpose? "Why did they transfer you to a different base? Did they ever give a reason?"
The woman shook her head. "No. They never did. I just knew I was to be transferred over to a different base."
Dev seemed to glare at nothing, a sure sign that she wanted to find someone in Unit...anyone...and strangle them. Hart temper at its best.
Tavish nodded his head as he started tapping on his leg. It was a small habit that showed up whenever he was tense about something. Best to think about something else. "I should warn you. Just as you can feel Jack, the Doctor and Master can feel the timelord in us." He forgot he had mentioned that already.
Meredith shifted uncomfortable with the mention of the Doctor again. "I see. Because of the resonance."
"I guess." Resonance? He just filed it under things he knew and didn't think much about. Maybe he and his sister were not so different in their blind acceptance of things.
They were also not so different in their respective care takers hiding them from the Doctor...though the reasons where both similar and different.
Tavish gave into the impulse and hugged his sister again. "I can feel you too..." When he let himself.
Meredith blushed faintly. "I felt you before I saw you..."
"Oh? So is that why you approached me?" He asked. "And here I thought it was because I was a sexy fox.”
"No...It was the fact that you looked like me that I approached you. It was strange to see a male me."
Tavish laughed and rubbed the back of his neck. "Or that... yeah."
Meredith offered him a warm smile. It was obvious that she was starting to open up and trust the slightly older Harkness.
Tavish looked over to Devon. "We should so take Meredith shopping. Especially if we go clubbing together." He highly doubted she would have the right clothes from what he knew of her life.
"We can go now if you'd like." Devon responded. "I've done all my homework and studying."
"Perfect!" Tavish cheered. "I need something good to spend my money on."
"And a younger sister is a good cause. Let me grab my purse." Devon disappeared back into her room.
Tavish rolled his eyes. His wallet was already in his back pocket. "Let me grab my key." He picked it up and locked his room.
Devon stepped back out. "Your car then?"
"The Tavish-mobile!" His car wasn't new, but it was sturdy and fit four adults nicely enough.
"Not that again! Mercy!" Devon rolled her eyes.
Meredith blinked. "Tavish...Mobile?"
He stuck his tongue out at Devon, just for a second before answering Meredith. "As in Batman? The Batmobile..."
"Who's batman?" She asked.
"Caped crusader? Movie vigilante.... of course you've never seen Batman." He ended in a sigh.
"I've read the Green Lantern comics... You mean like him?" Meredith asked innocently.
"Ah... well Batman has worked with him, and they are both DC, but really... Batman is a bit darker." Tavish was a bit at a loss to explain the massive differences between the two. "We'll just have to watch some DVD's together. Batman movies and Justice League unlimited."
"Run now Meredith. Run far and fast." Devon smirked.
"Oi, Justice League Unlimited is AWESOME." Tavish objected.
"No dear. G Gundam is awesome. Justice League Unlimited is just weird." She refuted.
Meredith chuckles.
"Oh, come on... the episode where the Flash and Lex Luther switch bodies...?" Tavish cajoled.
"Never saw it." Devon said flatly.
Tavish grinned. "Then you should watch it with us. Give it a fair shake."
"No. I won't cause the only female hero in that group is bondage bait." Devon said.
"Wha?" Meredith blinked.
"Okay, you haven't seen the ones I've watched because mine have more than Wonder Woman in them. There is Hawkgirl and Vixen..." Tavish said.
Meredith was still sorta stuck on the previous statement as Devon waved Tavish off with her good hand.
Tavish looked to Meredith. "If you read any of the Wonder Woman comics or know their history, she has... severe bondage connotations. She looses all her powers if she's tied up by a man." He rolled his eyes. "And in the very old comics that happened a LOT apparently."
"I think...I'll stick with the green lantern...." Meredith said.
Devon chuckled. "Let’s head out." She looked at Tavish. "And for you information she was tied up by a child once...and spanked."
Tavish winced. Then he tried. "Green Lantern is IN Justice League unlimited..."
Meredith shrugged. "We'll see."
"And there was this one episode where they're all turned into kids..." Tavish mentioned.
"Wait...there was?" Devon seemed to perk to the idea.
Tavish nodded. "I think that was one of the Morgana, Mordrid episodes."
"Okay. You have me hooked to the idea." Devon grinned, locking their Dorm floor door.
"Awesome." Tavish did a little victory pump in the air. "Now... to the MALL!"
"To the mall." Devon agreed good naturedly.
Meredith looked a little excited. After all she'd never been to a mall.
Tavish unlocked his car and they all piled in and drove to the mall.
Once there Devon took Meredith's hand and chatted brightly with the girl as they walked to the door. "Now then...What style do we want to hunt for Mere?"
"We can browse about and try different styles until she finds one she likes." Tavish suggested.
"Do you think they'll have Gothic Lolita here?" Meredith asked quietly. "I've always liked the style."
Tavish blinked, looked at Meredith, and then laughed. "Excellent! I think we can manage that."
The girl blinked in surprise then glanced at Devon who considered. "I think it'd look good on her...she has the perfect coloration."
"Think I could pull it off?" He jokingly asked. Not that he wanted to... Tavish drew the line at wearing skirts.
"There is a boy gothicloli." Meredith tilted her head and studied Tavish.
"I have no idea what that would be." He replied honestly. He glanced to Devon. "But I think I know something I like."
Devon raised an eyebrow. "So which twin are we working first?"
"Meredith." Tavish said.
Devon looked to Meredith who nodded. "Alright. I know the perfect stores. Follow me."
Tavish strolled along with them, smiling at some of the attractive girls and boys they passed.
Devon cooed as one guy walked by. "He was a cutie..."
Meredith shook her head.
Tavish walked him walk away. "I've seen nicer asses."
"True. But I have to say the one girl you commented on had a horrible breast to ass ratio." Devon mentioned.
Tavish paused to consider before saying. "Yes, I suppose you are right. But hey... no one's perfect."
"Then leave me to my cutie with a severe white man's ass." Devon snickered.
Meredith shook her head. "You two...are weird."
"Yup." Tavish agreed. "And let me tell you." He winked at a passing couple. "People like it."
"Threesome for your first go cousin?" Devon teased.
Tavish hissed at Devon. "What did we talk about with sharing of things not to be shared?"
Devon smirked. "Aw. Don't feel bad. I'm just as bodily innocent as you...except for some toys..."
Tavish rolled his eyes and sulked just a little. "Yeah, but you .... know I don't like you bandying it about like that." And he didn't have any toys to play with.
"Don't sulk. Or you won't get anyone. Besides bandy it about and you get someone with expertise in popping cherry. Some that'll beg for the chance." Devon rolled her eyes.
Tavish made a face. "Yeah, not so sure that's the type of person I want. They tend to be... well use and toss. Only have one cherry to be popped you know."
"Yeah...True." Devon huffed. "Why the hell are we so picky anyways?" She glanced around. "Where's Mere?"
Meredith was lingering behind, looking in a window at something that had caught her eye
"Probably Tad's influence." It certainly wasn't Jack or John to teach them to be picky. Tavish fell back to check out what she was looking at.
It was a dress she was looking at. Something you'd see in a club, yet classy. Black and detailed with dark purple mandarin collar and lace at the bottom.
Tavish tilted his head to get a better look. Then he grabbed her hand and pulled her into the store. "You have to try it out."
"What? Why?" Meredith yelped, Devon following the two.
"Only way you can properly see how it looks on you." Tavish told her.
"But...But..." Meredith objected.
Tavish started going through the racks. "What size do you wear?" He obviously wasn't letting her backout of this.
"An 8..." She murmured.
He pulled out that size. "Here you go." He looked around. "Dressing rooms are over there." He planned to look around to see if there was anything similar she might like in this store.
She looked at the tag. "Tavish! This is too much! I couldn't...I shouldn't..."
He shooed her to the dressing room. "Try it on." He took a glance at the price himself. He had expected to spend a lot in this trip. His own ideas of what he wanted would be expensive.
Devon ambled up beside him and glanced at the tag. "Luckily me and you have parents with decent paying jobs." She glanced at Tavish. "We should stop by a Salon."
"You think?" He shrugged and then shooed Meredith to the changing room.
Meredith pouted and went to change. She studied her reflection for a moment before stepping to show the other two "How...does it look?"
