Sam was fairly livid. Sookie had called off yet again from work, saying something about how she had to go back to Bon Temps and that she would be back when she could. Sam had no doubt in his mind that she had to go back there for was because of the vampires. That was one waitress down, and she was his best one. A girl from the school broke her foot. Another waitress gone. His only saving grace was that Lafayette was still here, so that at least he didn't have to do everything.
Sam frowned as he made a mental note to put an ad in the paper and served one of the men sitting at the bar another Budweiser. He didn't even realize that someone had come in and was sitting at one of the tables. He looked at her and knew that he had to meet her, cause he just fell for her, and hard. But he knew to play it safe. After all, his heart had been broken before.
He walked out from behind the bar and over to her table, pulling out a pen and notepad from his pocket and smiled at the woman. "Welcome to Merlotte's," Sam said, trying to keep his voice and tone even. "What can I get ya?"
