Well this kid at very least had good taste. Truth was that Emorie had a soft spot for kids. She'd grown up in a community that had weekly baseball games down at the diamond. Why it was there no one seemed to know because there wasn't ever a league, but on occasion the kids were permitted to go down and play with the others. It was something of an experiment, while their father had been against it, their grandmother had insisted, seeing just how strange it would seem if the children were held out of every activity. Someone might get ideas. It was one thing Emorie had loved about her grandmother, but now... she just wasn't the same person.
He got up and she leaned against the table, glancing at the book in his hands. "Always favored Artemis and Actaeon myself." It was an odd choice, but the idea of transfiguration fit in perfectly with what they hunted. Not an origin by any means but still, it was oddly one of her favorites when she was a kid. The next question she had would sound like a trudent officer, but she had to broach the subject. "The librarian is giving you weird looks," it was more of an observation than anything else. "Shouldn't you be in school?"
