Jack was just standing in the kitchen, reaching into the fridge for something when Tessa came running into the room, bumping into the refrigerator door causing it to swing shut slightly and hit Jack's shoulder. "Ouch!" The man exclaimed as he stood up straight again, bowl of yellow flavored liquid in his hands.
"Sorry." Tessa said, not sounding it one bit. "Dad! Guess what!?" She said excitedly, bouncing a little which caused her black dress to fan around her hips.
"Yes, because you sound sorry." He said idly, placing the punch bowl of eggnog on the counter before turning to face Tessa. "What the hell are you wearing on your head?"
"Lacey gave 'em to me, like?" She asked, shaking her head so that little fake lights hanging off the felt antlers on her head.
Jack just hummed, wiping his hands on a tea towel. "So what was this i was suppose to guess?"
"Oh right! It's snowing in the living room! It's so cool, come look!" She said before she raced out of the room again.
Jack huffed, shaking his head. "Demetra!" He hollered, the goddess sticking her head in the door. "Yes dear?" He gave her a droll look. "Did you make it snow in the living room?"
The blonde woman smiled a sweet smile. "Jack, love, would i do that?"
"Yes."
"Oh don't be a party pooper, it's just some warm snow, it's doesn't melt or leave slosh." She said in a very motherly manner. "Now don't look at me in that tone of voice and come on out."
"I'm not looking at you in a tone of voice Dee, that doesn't even make sense." He said, grabbing the eggnog and moving toward the door she was holding open for him. He stopped when she placed a hand up to stop him from exiting the kitchen, leaning forward and placing a chaste kiss on his lips. "Uh, what was that for?" The goddess just smirked before pointing up at the mistletoe hanging in the doorway, chuckling softly as she walked away. Jack huffed, following her into the large den, where it was in fact snowing. There was a large Christmas tree set up int the corner next to the fireplace, the children and Ianto had put it up the weekend before, he had been sent to the sofa after he kept messing up the 'set up' of the ornaments. "Jake." He said and he placed the bowl of eggnog on the sidebar, placing a red sticker on the side of it to mark that it had rum in it.
"Yeah boss?"
"Didn't i tell you to lay off with the damn mistletoe?"
"I did." He said, leaning against Mickey as the two shared one of the large arm chairs.
"So you didn't put the bit above the kitchen door?" Jake just shook his head. "Gwen?" The younger man shook his head again to signal that Gwen wasn't there yet. "So it just jumped up there on it's own?"
Jake shrugged. "Possibly, alien mistletoe." He said seriously.
Jack rolled his eyes. "Smart ass - Tessa would you leave her alone!?" He snapped at his teen daughter who was kneeling on the ground in front of Ariana, who was sat near the tree, trying to put a pair of antlers on her head. The other girl was making little annoyed noises and pulling her head away.
"I'm just trying to put the things on her head."
"How many times do i have to tell you, she's not your bloody dress up doll. She doesn't want the horns on, leave her be."
Tess huffed, arching an eyebrow and looking at the girl. "You know, for a mute, you sure do get your way a lot." She said with a little roll of her eyes before moving to get up.
"She's no mute, would you just..." Jack's words were cut off by the sound of the doorbell ringing. "Go answer the door or something." The teen made a little face, but turned to do as she was told. As she moved, a shot of what looked to be fire followed behind her and was about to catch her dress when Demetra reached out and caught it in her hand before turning to give Ariana a firm look and waggle her finger in a 'no no' sort of way. Jack made a little exasperated noise, covering his eyes for a moment. "How'd i get talked into this?"
Mickey and Jake looked at each other before both turning to Jack and saying at the same time. "Gwen."
Jack looked at them dryly. "Yes, thank you boys." He said before turning to see who had arrived.
