The ride back to the town was quiet, Jack running through the million things he had to do. He had to tell her family, his least favorite thing about death. By the time they pulled up in front of the coffee shop Jack had steeled himself against his own emotions, knowing there would be time for that later. He got out of the car, opening the back door, getting Rose's coat covered body out once again. "Meet you downstairs." He said to Ianto, who nodded and pulled away to park the SUV. The older man unlocked the front door of Jitters and walked through the eerily empty shop to the back room, pressing the button with his hip to allow him access to the Hub. He walked through the large base with her, walking right into the medical bay and laying her on the exam table. Normally he wouldn't have done that, it was too cold and sterile, but given her state, it made more sense for her to be in the med bay. He sighed, taking a deep breath and slowly removed his coat from her body. In the bright glare of the florescent lights of the Hub, he actually froze at the sight of her. He tossed his soiled coat over the railing that ran around the med bay's viewing theater before resting his hands on the side of the table, bowing his head. "Damn it Rose." He muttered, opening his tear filled eyes to look down at her body. She looked nothing like the wonderful bright girl he knew and loved, she was gone. What little clothes she had left had been melted and burned into her skin, her hair and eyebrows were gone. As was her nose and ears, her eyes frozen open and her blank eyes held a white misty coating over the usual brown irises. Her skin was a bloody brown color, crisp like a piece of over cooked meat. It was cracking and pealing, and Jack's hands were covered in slightly crisp and thick blood and skin from where he had held her body. Swallowing against the bile that was rising in his throat, closing his eyes for a moment, tears slipping down his cheeks. Once he opened his eyes again, he turned and grabbed one of the white medical sheets and draped it over what was left of her body before going to take the cell with the alien in it out of his coat pocket. He walked out of the med bay, through the Hub not stopping until he was at the incinerator. He opened up the door, tossed the tech with the alien inside it into the large oven, closing the door after. He hit the button on the side that started it up, the sound coming from it as the flames engulfed the tech and killed the being was a dying scream from the deepest darkest areas of ones mind. "Good." Jack muttered as he walked away from the dying alien, his face hard. "Burn, just like she did."
Jack washed his hands before he sent out a text to her family, telling them to meet him upstairs. He'd bring then down into the hub before telling them, that way, should any of them try to kill him, the mess would be easier to clean up. Jack knew he'd be blamed, and he knew he deserved it. He had gotten yet another one of his team killed, someone he loved dearly. He was prepared to he hated, after all, he hated himself for what happened to her. With a sigh Jack went up into the store and stood behind the counter, waiting.
