Re: Tierney and Sullivan
The one thing that resonated with Tierney was being honest, with herself and others. She had been honest with herself about a lot of things, other than her addiction, but trusting others was still tough. Still, she’d make a minor concession because she had the feeling that this guy wasn’t going to let anything go too long without asking again. “Yeah, same here. Went to bed like it was the average night and voila, twilight zone. And just some health issues. So I’m not too keen on spending too much time wandering in some alternate dimension or where ever we are. Otherwise I’d definitely be up for figuring this all out and getting some good film on it.”
That was interesting too. “So you’re a photographer? Videographer? Daring documentary filmmaker?” He asked, grinning a little more at the thought of Tierney running around with a megaphone and a camcorder. “I’d like to get back too, but...I’m starting to wonder about this place. How is any of this even logical? Even happening?” Looking forward again, he pulled them to a stop outside of a hand-to-hand combat arena. “Something bigger has to be happening.”
“Documentaries, although I don’t know how daring they are. I tend to go for subjects people would rather ignore.” She had an interesting perspective on her own work, but that was a conversation for another time. She slowed to a stop with him, taking in the arena thoughtfully. “Something bigger. Or, maybe something very very small that threw everything else for a loop. The whole butterfly effect thing, minus the terrible Ashton Kutcher movie part.”
Butterfly effect. That was interesting. Maybe it was something very, very small that tossed the whole world on end. “You might be onto something there, Tierney,” He said, nodding as he looked her way. “With the butterfly effect thing. Minus Ashton Kutcher,” He repeated. “Maybe we should try and investigate, see which way it is. Something big or something small, and then work from there?” It’d be nice to have someone in on trying to find a way to get them home too. Plus, maybe Tierney could use something to focus on that wasn’t being stuck in Medieval Times?
One thing that Tierney always knew about herself, she didn’t do well with unstructured time. So, having a mission was something that definitely appealed to her. “Sounds like a good idea. But where do we start?”
“…Here, I guess? Start looking around the tournament, see if anything weird…er sticks out?” He suggested. He didn’t like the vagueness of the plan but it was really all he had at the moment and the best he could do with no real lead on how to get them back home. “We can get together later and go over any clues we have?"
Considering it for a moment, she shrugged in response. “Sure. It’s better than just standing around waiting for something to happen. It’ll be kind of hard to know what to look for, but I’ve always been pretty good at observation. Hopefully I can spot something out of the ordinary for this place.”
“Let’s be honest, I don’t exactly know what I’m looking for either. Just something out of the ordinary. Or…more out of the ordinary than all this,” He said, gesturing around before holding his hand out to her again with a smile. “Keep that watch safe for me, ok?"
She nodded slightly, looking to him and then his hand, unsure how to respond to the gesture. “Sounds like a plan. And I will, promise.”
