Adam was surprised to wind up with a Kyle in his lap, but he really didn't mind, one hand reaching up to trace the lines on Kyle's stomach. "Besides hooking up with a guy?" he asked, almost teasing. It wasn't any small stretch of the imagination. "I was there when Jeffrey burned down his brother's house. Mostly by accident. Got in a car once and drove as far towards Florida as we could get." But they hadn't made it. Jeffrey had had a meltdown about spending too long in the car even though it had been his idea and Adam had to turn them around and get him stoned enough to not freak it out on the drive back.
“Hey, I thought I wasn't just ‘a guy’ - I seem to remember the descriptor ‘hot’ featuring very highly in there,” Kyle teased, tracing his fingers along Adam’s skin. He turned serious though, as he heard some of what Adam had got up to. It showed in his expression, and the way he tensed slightly, though when he did speak, it was to joke once again. “You get as far as Disney World?” he asked. He didn’t dare turn it serious, trying to play Jeffrey down only sparingly. Part of his game plan.
"Definitely hot," Adam corrected with a smile, but he saw the way that Kyle tensed and could hazard a guess of what that meant. Mention of the theme park though brought out a frown in Adam's features as he shook his head. "No. That was where we were going. Because I wanted to. Well Jeffrey decided we were going because I wanted to go there. Made it to North Carolina before he freaked out and we turned back." Adam shrugged a little like it wasn't a big deal even if the memory hurt.
"I've never been to Disney either," Kyle admitted. He thought that might help right now. "My parents never wanted to go, and... Yeah. So, it never happened. I would have killed to go as a kid."
"It was kind of a dumb idea. I would have too. I wonder sometimes if my parent would have taken me." That was part of why Adam wanted to go, to see if it brought him closer to them or a childhood where parents were still around.
"I don't know. A road trip sounds pretty cool," Kyle said. Better than arson, at least. "I kinda wish you'd got there."
"It was at first. It would be." Adam smiled softly, running his hands up Kyle's sides before leaning up to kiss him. "Eventually I will. What about you? What’s the craziest thing you’ve done?”
"This," Kyle told him, without hesitation. "All of this. The waking up in a strange place, the walking through doors to find myself someplace that's else..." He hesitated, then added, "You."
Adam had to agree that this place was that bizarre and crazy, but before he could he got hung up on the last part. "Me?"
