"Doesn't feel that random," Adam said, seeing where Kyle's eyes went and instinctively covering it up with his free hand. "And it's fine. You wanted to talk about things, this is good to know. I don't mind. It's not like you're talking about how great he was."
Kyle reached for Adam’s hand and pulled it away from where he was covering the tattoo. “I was just some random guy in your diner. Just another customer you talked to.” Except Kyle had ended up changing his life over it, and Adam had ended up permanently marking himself over it. It made Kyle actually stop and wonder which one had them had reacted in the more extreme way. “Harry had his moments. He wasn’t the devil. He wanted… What you probably want. For me to be happy. He just… I’m not always an easy person to please, I guess. Can we talk about you for a bit?” he asked, almost pleading. He was feeling unbalanced and reactionary.
"Random hot guy who didn't look through me," Adam corrected. "And it wasn't just another customer. That should be obvious." He moved his hand, but still felt self conscious about the tattoo. Kyle hated it. And while he hadn't regretted it before he wondered if he should now. "You aren't that hard to please. Coffee is the big one. Sex seems to make you happy..." he smiled and shrugged. "We can. What do you want to know?"
“I still can’t believe that anyone could ever manage to look through you,” Kyle breathed, looking Adam over once again, paying special notice to the expanses of bare skin. “As for pleasing me… A - you don’t know me. Not really. You have… No idea what I can be like. I can be difficult. Impossible. Frustrating. I will make you wish you’d never met me at least once. I am far more than coffee and sex and if you go into this with me thinking that’s all there is too it…. Then I’m going to apologise, right now.” He leaned in to kiss Adam, sealing that apology. “I want to know… Everything, I guess. Tell me something good that I don’t already know.”
"I work at a diner. People aren't paying attention," Adam pointed out, but smiled at the attention. "And I won't be? That's the point Ky. You like someone despite their faults. You don't get tired of them. And you are far more than coffee and sex, but that works well right now and I'll figure out the rest." He liked the kiss though, answering it happily before he was back to thinking on how to answer that question. "You know all the good stuff."
Kyle grabbed hold of Adam’s arm and pulled him into the pillows, sitting up a little so he could face him side on. “Baby - you’re an idealist,” he informed him. “You think everything’s going to be easy, and perfect and it’s really not. Because I am not going to be happy with you just…. going along with whatever I want, and agreeing with me. You try and do that and you will drive me crazy.” He stroked a hand down Adam’s chest, wanting to touch him again. “It’ll totally backfire on you. Now… tell me something I don’t know, because I refuse to believe that the paltry bits of information I know about you constitute the entirety of ‘the good stuff’,” he said, dropping his voice and leaning in to kiss Adam’s shoulder. Kyle really had no problem in cheating when trying to make a point, after all.
"I think everything could be that way. That if you want something it'll happen. You're here aren't you?" Adam said with a smile, shifting closer to Kyle. "I just think I can handle the times when you're not perfect." Or he'd adjust things to make it better. "But okay, no going along with everything." What Kyle was doing was cheating but it got a soft sigh out of Adam who shook his head and smiled again. "I think they do. Orphan, live with my best friend, work at the diner," Adam said. "You know what my tattoos mean...I like old movies."
Kyle rolled his eyes fondly at the fact that Adam? Clearly still wasn’t getting it. Which meant that he would have to learn the hard way. Clearly, nothing but experience would get him out of that naive little world of his. Taking a decision, Kyle moved, flipping himself round to straddle Adam, settling across his hips, his shirt flapping open. “Tell me about the craziest thing you’ve ever done,” he requested, resting his hands on Adam’s waist.
