Ash almost choked on a laugh and sat up completely on both elbows. "If you wanted to what now?" he asked, guffawing because he didn't even remotely believe she was serious. He hoped. Though she might be, in which case he probably shouldn't be laughing so openly but he couldn't help it. And then it struck him she'd said Bianca. "No. No. You're never allowed to be Bianca. That bitch is crazy."
Mai was laughing as well, but looking up at him when he mentioned Bianca properly. “Do you know her?” she asked, feeling surprised at that. “Really?”
Ash shifted uncomfortably, feeling like he shouldn't touch Mai because hello? Dirty. "The crazy woman from the elevator I mentioned earlier… Wait, you know a specific person named Bianca?"
“Oh my god, you’re kidding,” Mai said, sitting up and pulling the sheet up with her. “You didn’t say her name.” Mai rolled her eyes hard and could have gotten out of the bed to punch something if Ash wasn’t there. “Redhead? Gorgeous, but she knows it?”
Ash thought a moment, piecing back the encounter so he could say yes or no to something he'd tried hard to forget. "Yeah I think she had red hair. She thought she was something. You know her?" he asked confusedly.
“Oh my god, I’m going to kill her.” Mai said shaking her head. “She just has to get her hands on everything doesn’t she?” She made a disgusted face before looking back at Ash. “I do. I can’t stand her.”
"No killing. Please? The only hands she had on me were unwanted. I made sure to tell her." Even though she hadn't been happy about it. He watched Mai and frowned slightly at the look she gave him. "You're the only one who has me."
Mai was going to point out that it didn’t matter if he didn’t want it, she should know better, but the last part had her stopping, staring at him a little as she softened. “Just me?”
Ash hadn't realized how much he'd put out there until she called him again on what he'd said. Which was really okay with him. Especially after she'd said she wanted to marry him for him. He nodded. "Just you. Is that okay?" he asked.
Mai nodded slowly, mouth a tiny bit open. “Yeah, yeah that’s okay.” Lots of okay. She held one arm open for him, hoping he’d come to her, the other still holding the sheet up in some new-found modesty.
Ash was more than good with coming to her, sliding in there under her arm and pressing up against her side. He wasn't clinging to her per se but his hold wasn't exactly innocent. He wondered at the sheet but he looked into her eyes instead. "Are you sure?"
“Very sure,” Mai promised holding him against her just as tightly as he was holding her. “Very, very sure.”
Ash smiled at her answer and caught both sides of her face between his palms. Gently he pressed his lips to hers. The lights were still on in this room. There was still wine and context and strangers outside that might interrupt. He didn't care about a bit of it. Just Mai.
