Plot Post and Summary for Mid-January

I. Mod Summary

►Notes from the mods
New month, new year, new plots! The Order took a heavy hit last month, but the DE should be getting some come-uppance this month.

We're a little bit lagging on activity. I've noticed people seem hesitant to talk to each other if they haven't previously played before. I've talked with and played with everyone here, so I know you're all wonderful people, and that just lack of talking all the sadder for me. ;_; Hopefully this will help people break the ice.

Don't neglect journals! Easy way to boost up the activity and talk to characters your character wouldn't normally come across.

Sadly, Alex has dropped, and with her goes Narcissa and Rita. We wish her well in all she does.

II. Major Plot Events

►Ongoing Events
The Order Meeting thread was a complete flop, and I'll blame myself for that as much as anything else. Big group threads are kind of like playing Russian Roulette anyway; guess we found a bullet this time. SO! I'll sum up the high points here:

Several of the Order's suppliers (non-Order business and people that still give monetary or material support) have been threatened, if not out-right attacked, so Dumbledore is ordering a halt on all acquisitions that way until proper security measures can be taken to protect them. Or rather, to protect the ones that haven't freaked out and quit. All the wards around the safe house are to be replace, renewed, or upgraded, all codes and passwords have been changed, and undoubtedly this will cause headaches until everyone remembers the new security protocol. Surveillance is to resume in select locations, but others have been abandoned because recent suspicious activity there makes it look like the DEs know they're being watched and are setting up a trap. Order members are to take extra precautions with their own safety and are encouraged to alter their daily routines as much as possible in case they have been outed and are being watched. They should report back to Dumbledore or a senior member if they feel they are being followed or see anything suspicious, and to seek the immediate security of the Safe House. No heroics. (*pointed look at a few people here*) Otherwise, operations are to resume cautiously.

►Upcoming Events
Still need volunteers for The List. That'll come out near the end of the month. Anyone innocent want to be on it? It's (ICly) and unofficial list of suspected Death Eaters, so being on it doesn't automatically mean jail time, just lots of drama.

►Behind the Scenes
The new Ministry security has uncovered three 'attempted attacks' on the Ministry building. Papers point out that the supposed 'weapons' could also have several mundane uses, but the security people are conveniently ignoring that fact. The people detained have not been charged but are still in custody. They are all three civilian visitors to the Ministry. Likewise, Nicholas Armsby has still not been charged. Public opinion is getting heated.

First Quidditch Championship Cup match is this weekend. Pride of Portree vs Holyhead Harpies. The DoMGS is getting spread thin trying to set it all up and keep up security, considering the turn-out they expect for it.

Construction on the new prison has begun in Denbigh. Few people actually care. The builders are starting to realize they're already over-budget.

III. This Month In Review

Sirius and Gideon plot revenge for Ellory, and bitch a lot.

Alecto finally 'officially' quit her old job.

The Order Meeting is still open if anyone wants to socialize in there.

Bill and Gaby completely screw up any chance of a healthy working relationship. But are at least having fun?

Jacob gets embarrassingly schooled by Dorcas.

Remus continues to keep an eye on the werewolves, and really hates his job.
