I. Mod Summary | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
►Notes from the mods First off, I want to thank you all for the support and condolences you gave me after the accident and for putting up with my subsequent fopishness. I'm more or less back on track now, since I'm home and settled and should be able to get everything back soon. Secondly, I hope everyone had a great holiday season, and Happy New Year! If there's anything, especially anything pertaining to new characters, that I've missed please point it out to me and I'll fix it right away. With so much going on between the holidays and getting home again, I'm sure I've overlooked something. Also, I want to implement an awards system, where every month (or two months or three months, depending on how we want to work it) people nominate to certain categories (Funniest Character, Best Line, ect) and then vote to get a winner. If you guys are interested in going along with such a scheme, let me know. If it goes forward, first nominations would go up at the end of the month. ►Character gains and losses Lots of new characters this month! Peter Pettigrew and new player Stacey II Rita Skeeter from Alex Fabian Prewett from Mark Evelyn De Smit and new player Helen Mary Nott and John Dawlish and new player Kate Elijah Wilkes and new player Kassie and Amelia Bones from Mandi! II. Major Plot Events
►Ongoing Events It has come to my attention that I have not been very clear in communicating how the Order behaves in this setting. This is not a passive organization sitting on its thumbs and waiting for Death Eaters to strike, to show up 5 min after it's too late and lament. Sirius Black - Will be helping track down whoever is supplying the DEs with illegal potion ingredients smuggled in from Eastern Europe, to be soon followed by quietly shutting him down. Currently the project is stage of keeping track of who is using the illegal ingredients and tracking their movements in the hopes of locating the source. Working along side several others. Evelyn De Smet - Welcome to the group. Isn't very well trusted yet. Is set to doing surveillance work on known clandestine DE meeting place and reporting on who enters and how often. Locations include such things as bars, club houses, private homes, ect. Working on a rotating schedule with several others. Lily Evans - Is part of a team to help relocate at-risk persons, either to secure locations or out of the country. Working with several others. Is not allowed to work with James Potter Remus Lupin - Remus continues to be working with the local werewolves, for the time being just passing among them and giving info to other order members. Works alone. Can be 'borrowed' as health and time permits to fill in on surveillance schedules. Marlene McKinnon - Assigned to Safe House working on charmed Defense Objects. Can be borrowed as time permits to fill in on surveillance schedules. Dorcas Meadows - Is part of a team to help relocate at-risk persons, either to secure locations or out of the country. Working with several others. Peter Pettigrew - Assigned to watch and report on the comings-and-goings in the DoIMC, to include following certain people off-hours. Last task shared with other people on a rotating schedule. Also does odd-jobs and errands for people in the Safe House James Potter - Is part of a team to help relocate at-risk persons, either to secure locations or out of the country. Working with several others. Is not allowed to work with Lily Evans. Fabian Prewett - Assigned to Safe House working on charmed Defense Objects. Can be borrowed as time permits to fill in on surveillance schedules. Gideon Prewett - Will be helping track down whoever is supplying the DEs with illegal potion ingredients smuggled in from Eastern Europe, to be soon followed by quietly shutting him down. Currently the project is stage of keeping track of who is using the illegal ingredients and tracking their movements in the hopes of locating the source. Working along side several others. Jacob Selwyn - Assigned to the potions room at the safe house, creating commonly-used potions for other Order members. Has branched out since his arrival to also scoping out apothecaries and marking new targets for Order surveillance. ►Upcoming Events A list of Death Eaters is about to make the rounds, some of the names being accurate and some of them not. If anyone wants to volunteer to have their PCs on The List, leave a comment here. Order members are about to get a visitor this month that they're really going to want to pay attention to. Heads up for that. ►Behind the Scenes The holidays are over, and everyone breaths a huge sigh of relief that nothing disastrous happened. Apparently the DEs were taking time off from their death-and-destruction to take in the season as well. Qidditch Championship Cup starts this month, near the end. Fans will want to attend games, or in lieu of that pay attention to the paper. The Ministry is open to the public again, but increased security means it's harder than ever to get what you need to done. The screening process just to get past the lobby is insane. Think airport security and tack on an extra strip-search (magically done, of course). The obvious paranoia is making many citizens question if the Ministry is more interested in protecting its citizens or its own ass. Tempers can run pretty hot, whether you're standing in line or just idly conversing about the gov't. The Armsby boy from this article is still in custody, and he's becoming something of a rallying point for the public. Nothing officially done about it yet, but the longer the MLE holds off putting forth official charges, the more people grumble about how something should be done about it.
III. This Month In Review
► Jake finally gets out of the house, but runs into Sirius and does not enjoy the result. Edward finds new employment for Alecto working in what amounts to a biological research facility. Bellatrix and Alecto commit a series of murders as a distraction while Ministry budget meetings take place. Several people are upset by this. Mopsa starts her first game. Remus continues his work with the werewolves. Sirius and Narcissa exchange words unwillingly on Diagon Alley. Bill challenges Gaby to a duel and finally gets his date with her after he lets her win. Ellory Doge (NPC Order Member) and her partner Nigel are caught by Bellatrix Lestrange while responding to a routine call. Nigel dies and Ellory is captured. Ellory gets interrogated by Edward and Bella. When they are done, her body is left at the Ministry. Various people get in the Christmas Spirit. Bill gets upset over Ellory going missing and ends up Gabrielle's door. Things end surprisingly well. Sirius runs into Andromeda again, and reconnects with his sane cousin. Dumbledore is informed of Ellory's disappearance and he puts a halt on activity until the ramifications can be sorted out. Christmas gifts are sent and received. They were all fairly tame. Except for Bellatrix's, of course. Sirius angsts. Bella finally confirms to Sirius that she is, in fact, a Death Eater. Sirius doesn't take this well. Bill and Sirius are very upset. Things do not end well. Evelyn De Smet arrives with the Order. |
