The summer couldn't come fast enough for Bella. To say that her year had been busy was an understatement. Missions, recruitment, moving up in the ranks and proving herself to be more than just a female with thoughts and ideals of her own had kept her far busier than she had ever expected it would but never once had she complained. She had been knocked down, beat up, pushed to the brink of exhaustion and then pushed even further but she had taken it all and dealt with it as was expected of her and in the end her dedication had paid off and she was quickly rising in the ranks, surpassing many of the men who had had their marks for years now and were still no further than when they had taken them. Bella was pleased with herself, incredibly much so. But her dedication to her cause and her mark had caused other areas of her life to suffer, mainly her relationship with her family. She had closed herself off and withdrawn from in favour of being able to focus and she knew they noticed. The owls from her sisters and her parents were piled up on her desk, unopened, unanswered and collecting dust. Furious wasn't what they were with her and she knew it but at the moment it didn't matter to her. She had a mission of her own and she would see it completed if it killed.....something it might very well do yet.

Summer arriving though changed all of that. She had informed her Lord that she would be spending it in France and that all he need do was call and she would come as she always had but she needed to work on her relationships with her family and prove to them that she was not as horrible as they believed her to be and that she did in fact still love them. They had arrived at the manor the week before and Bella would have been with them but loose ends needed to be tied up before she could go. Rodolphus was accompanying her but he was staying at the Lestrange family home and she would travel back forth between the two. The moment she set foot inside of the manor though and took a breath it seemed as though all of the stress of the past nine months just disappeared. Summers in France were always relaxing for her and this would be no different than all of the other times she had been there. Heading up to her room she dropped her bag on the floor and kicked off her shoes, a grin spreading across her face as she did. Sure the summer was a time for relaxation but for her it was filled will lessons, adventures and relaxation. It meant more time with her family and now more time with Sirius. He had gone to Hogwarts the previous fall and as such she had not seen as much of him as she usually did and if she were honest it bothered her a bit to not be able to see him whenever she liked or to show him new things such as the wide array of spells and tricks she had learned in her time with her Lord. That would all change now though. They had the rest of the summer and she was determined to show him as much of what she knew as she could before they all had to part and go back to their normal lives.

Barefoot and clad in a pair of shorts and a tight black shirt she left her room and went in search of her cousin. The spells could wait until later. At the moment she had something more important she wanted to show him, or well something she felt was more important. Most would be shocked if they knew she could do it but she felt it was a necessity, especially with the life she led. One always had to be prepared and this ensured that she was. And as such was the case what she knew she passed onto Sirius and this was going to be no different. She really was in no hurry though so she wandered through the hallways slowly, poking her head in and out of random rooms trying to find the others and simply to see what had changed and what hadn't in the she had been away.

Sirius shook his head.

As much fun as getting into trouble could be, getting away with something was infinitely more fun. He'd much rather no get caught. And he couldn't shake the sense that there was something private about these little lessons with Bella. There was something of an implicit understanding that he wasn't really supposed to talk about them. After all, parents worried too much for their own good. They were always telling him to stay away from things - places, people, activities, whatever - out of what Sirius assumed was some kind of obligatory parental code of behaviour.

Fencing they didn't mind, but if they ever found out what had almost happened last summer, they might feel compelled to interfere. Or punish Bella. And it had been an accident, so punishment was completely unnecessary. Besides, these days it was a lot more enjoyable when his parents just... maintained their distance. He wasn't about to do anything that might jeopardize the time he got to spend alone with his cousin.

It simply hadn't occurred to him to tell anyone. There was no need, and Sirius wasn't much for sharing without cause. James was something of an exception, but it simply hadn't come up- not that Sirius had been consciously aware of it for terribly long. And this was something of a big secret, the kind whose explanation absolutely couldn't wind its way back to his parents.

"It's hard to notice," Sirius mentioned. It wasn't as though he'd ever been hurt badly enough at school for anyone to expect there to be a notable scar. "I bleed and bruise and burn and all that. Without magic I don't heal much quicker than anybody else- it's just that once it fades, once it heals, it just goes away."

"You are not to tell anyone of this, period. If someone notices just laugh it off and play it up as their being delusional or mistaken or something else along those lines. No one is to know about this, at least not until I figure it all out. If they ever ask about your not having scars just come up with some creative story to cover it all and if you can't, then change the subject and pretend as though you never heard their question, is that understood?" Bella knew that she was more than likely being overly cautious but this was not the sort of thing she could let get out, not in the least. She didn't need people hounding her to do something that she didn't even understand how she had done it in the first place. It made no sense to her whatsoever but at the same time on a much deeper level, it pleased her greatly to know that she had done something like this, something this big and this powerful. The thought of it all was a bit intoxicating and left her feeling more than a bit light headed and giddy. After all how many people could say they had healed someone and after wards that person never scarred again? Not many that she knew of and to know that she had done such a thing? Well it wasn't a secret that she was going to be sharing with anyone anytime soon. This would simply just be another thing that the two of them shared and no one else. It wasn't like they didn't already have secrets, what was one more added to the pile?

Summoning her dagger she quickly spelled it cleaned before tucking back into its place behind her back and with her wand still in hand she made sure and cleaned the mats of all traces of blood before turning towards him and removing all traces from his face and his clothing. Once she was sure that no traces of what they had discovered remained she rose to her feet and offered him a hand.

"What do you say we call it day and go find something else to do? We can continue your lessons tomorrow if you like."

A few minutes before he might have argued the point, pressed her to keep on, but now he just felt exhausted. He reached up and took her hand. Well. Nearly exhausted. He didn't give her the slightest smirk of warning before he was gripping her hand tight and rocking his weight backward. It was easier to offset her center of gravity with how she was slightly leaning over, and he hauled her to the ground, aiming to have her land on the flat of her back atop the mat.

And then he was popping up himself, wearing a pleased, lupine smile. He never wanted it able to be said that he didn't pick up her lessons quickly enough. Besides, he figured it was the only way to make up for getting caught off guard earlier.

"My father's gotten Regulus and me new brooms for the summer," Sirius mentioned, carrying on pleasantly with their conversation. It was nothing new- every summer Regulus wanted the newest broom. That Sirius appeared to have little interest in trying out for the quidditch team (even if it was the Gryffindor team- though Regulus had pointed out that there wasn't technically anything in the rules that would have barred Sirius from trying out for the Slytherin team) seemed baffling to his younger brother. Sirius was still on the fence. He loved quidditch- watching and playing, but all that practicing looked like such an unnecessary hassle. "We should go down flying for a while. Maybe down to the waterfront- we can go swimming."

Sirius was already heading for the door. He'd need to actually get dressed - and get his wand - if they were going to go flying. His mind was already working to fill up the day until they had to be back to get dressed for dinner. If he could come up with a way to get out that, he'd give it a shot.

Bella with a huff of air, blinking several times as she focused on the ceiling of the room. Well, she certainly hadn't been expecting that but at least he was picking up on what she had taught. Granted the fact that she was now flat on her back didn't amuse her but she would get over it. Tilting her head slightly she watched him leave the room, taking a few moments to gather her wits and push her thoughts that were battering at the inside of her mind to the side. There would be time for all of that later. Right now she had a cousin to show up and prove to once more that she was better than him.

Pushing herself up off of the mats she turned and headed out of the room, her voice echoing off of the tile in the foyer as she called for him to wait up. She needed to change as well but after that she had no plans for the afternoon and the thought of spending it on a broom and showing him up sounded like an excellent idea.
