She watched through the glass divider as they snarled and snapped at the vampires who were crouched in an attack position.

"They were doing better yesterday, what happened?" The tall vamp next to her shrugged. "You're destroying my brothers hard work, all of you." She unclasped her robe, revealing a sleek black designer dress, and handed it to the vamp, whose name she'd never bothered to learn. "They learned to love those horrible Cullens, they will love us." She practiced a few different smiles, trying to find one that seemed warm and inviting. Usually they were cruel and full of mischief, so it took a few moments longer than necessary. "I guess we'll try this another way," she said as she opened the door.

She had hoped Alice had seen it. It was embarassing and she hated to be seen as weak. Hopefully once she had made her decision to come here Alice had told them all, and why, because she really couldn't say it aloud herself. That she needed to see Nessie, Edward, Bella, all of them, so that she would no for sure it was all worth it. It was one thing to be rejected and jealous, to stand idly by while he found love, even to fight for their ability to love, but things had never been the same for her and her family. The Cullens on the other hand seemed to be flourishing. At least, that's what all the letters from Carlisle and Esme had implied.

She sat in her car with the tinted windows for a few more moments. Motionless as a statue as she thought about what to expect.

The young girl sobbed as she writhed in pain, Jane merely smiled. "Tell me again what makes you worthy to be here." She responded only with a choking as she began grasping toward the desk.

She turned away disgusted. "Pathetic." Tears streamed down the woman's face as she tried to find the energy to stand again. "The last one lasted a good four minutes before she considered killing herself. What was that forty seconds?"

The girl climbed uneasily back into her seat and Jane rolled her eyes. She couldn't even amuse her for five minutes. Good thing she hadn't bothered to learn the girl's name, she wouldn't last another week.

She paced back and forth watching the girl cower in her presence. If only it were time to make their move.
