[03 Sep 2013|12:17am] Unmapped MODS • WANTED • OOC Welcome to Unmapped Rules Application Character Directory Taken / Held F.A.Q's Credit Welcome to Unmapped Unmapped is going to be a panfandom game and welcoming to any fandom known whether it be tv, movies, or just general fiction. PB's are also welcome but you can read about them in the f.a.q's listed below. The game takes place on an island that is undisclosed to anyone and isn't on any map known to man or even Google Earth, hence the name unmapped. It's basically an island that has been concealed from the world by a government scientist who has gone a little insane and wants to try new things here and there. The island is located in the south so the weather is kind of tropical but isn't as bad as some other places. He can control the climate from his computer and smart phone making it as hot or cold as he wants it to be. It does rain a few times a week and when it does it's for hours at a time. As far as the temperature it ranges from the 70's to the 90's, usually somewhere in between. The scientist is a huge fiction lover of all kinds whether it be tv, movies, or general reading. He decided to attempt a science project just to see what would happen if some of the characters he read about were to be real. So he constructed a machine that would pull them straight out of the books or whatever they were in and put them on this undisclosed island. The characters don't know what is hapening or that they are now real. All they know is that they aren't home anymore and everything is weird to them. Their loved ones aren't here, unless they've been pulled out of the book as well, and there is a lot of people on the island that they have never seen before. What will happen while they try to adapt to a new world? There will be heroes and villains just like they were back in their fictional land but this time they may encounter someone that they haven't ever dealt with before. As far as why residents can't leave the island think of it as Stephen King's Under the Dome. There is a dome covering the island which covers the through the air and underneath the water that keeps anything from escaping. Not even Superman or Aquaman could penetrate the dome. It's indestructible by anything and everything from either side of it. The only thing that could possibly take it down is the scientists computer and he isn't going to be releasing the dome anytime soon. Air is the only thing that can pass through it and it's sound proof so no sound either way. The only sound in the dome is what is happening in the dome. While in the dome everyone must fend for themselves. This includes catching and growing food, making extra clothes, and building your own hut to live in. Some people have built large ones and may be willing to take in extra people if needed. Depends on how you want to play your character! Sebastian Shaw succeeded in starting World War Three. Nuclear warheads had devastating effects on the world, pollution sky rocketed, cities crumbled and there were mass shortages of even the most bare essentials throughout every country. The children of the Atom have risen up under President Shaw, who leads the country from his seat in Washington, D.C. and the mutants are the dominant species now, out numbering humans five to one. While camps have sprung up in the most major cities, with Shaw rounding humans up and using them for labor to rebuild the cities and civilization as second-class citizens, he has recruited mutants to his side with the promise of acceptance in a new world. A group called the Xmen were formed to fight Shaw and are the only one's who have a chance to stand up to Shaw and to protect humans and mutants alike. Which side will you choose? Atom is set in 1964, in a post apocalypse setting following real time. The game is canon compliant up until the point where the X Men stopped the Soviets from crossing into Cuba's waters and has other Marvel themes in play. GAME BEGINS SEPTEMBER 1.
