A/N: I'm a day late with this and I apologize.
Adam wasn't sure when he'd first realized that he was in love with the Sorceress. It wasn't something sudden, not a revelation, but more of a comfort he felt in her presence and an emptiness he felt without her.
She made him laugh. She made him cry. She'd risked her life for him and he'd risked his life for her. It wasn't for Castle Grayskull any more, but for her.
She circled the castle once in her falcon form before entering from above. She'd shadowed him for the last two miles of his journey, called to him as he'd run the last mile.
Tonight could be their last night together. Tomorrow, his life would change forever.

"I could never take my father's place." Adam glanced at the turrets of the castle in the distance. Walking along beside her eased his doubts, but stirred his longing for her, his fear that he'd never see her again, into despair.
"No one is asking you to take his place." She always knew what to say. "You'll be a fine king in your own right, Adam." She slipped her fingers through his. "Who better to rule Eternia than the man who has protected her as He-Man all these years?"
"I'll miss it." A smile curled his lips. "Not so much the action." He shrugged.
"You defeated Skeletor." Pulling him to a stop, she stroked his cheek with the palm of one hand. "The planet is safe. He-Man is no longer needed. What your people need now is King Adam."
"Will I..." Adam dropped his eyes, uncertain how to proceed. "Ever see you again?"
The Sorceress laughed, squeezed the hand she held. "Of course, you'll see me again. You will always be welcome here at Castle Grayskull."
Licking his lips, the prince raised his eyes to meet hers. "There's..." Adam pulled his hand free and turned away. "I haven't been completely honest with you, Sorceress."
"I have a name," she whispered.
"If I used it, I'm afraid I could never leave you here alone."
"I will come to you." Her breath stirred his hair, warmed the back of his neck and drove a shudder through him. "If you will wait."
He turned to take her in his arms. He'd longed to hold her for years, but had never summoned the courage to touch her, had always respected the difference in their stations. "I will wait for you forever."
She laughed again, stretched up to kiss the tip of his nose. "I've been here in Grayskull a long time. I've paid the price for my power, done my time." Her fingers tangled in his dirty blond hair. "I've had my eye on a young woman in a small province. She is of good heart and strong character, but she will die without intervention. I thought..." She shrugged. "She is worthy of my power if she will have it."
"And if she won't?" Now that he knew the truth, that she mirrored his feelings for her, he wasn't sure he could live without her.
"We still have tonight." Spreading her wings, she held him while her fingers fumbled with the fastenings of his tunic and his pants.
He undressed her while soft feathers tickled his back and her fingertips stroked his sides. She was warm against him, her body pressed to his.

He'd never thought it possible, though he'd felt the magic surge through his body maybe a million times. But, when they'd melded, become one, she'd kissed him and he'd changed until, just like her, his body was covered in feathers, his arms turned to wings, his feet tipped with talons.
Side by side, they soared across Eternia, the wind below them, a million stars spread across the sky above. And in that moment, Adam knew that no matter what happened between them, they would always share a bond that neither time nor distance could shatter.
I believe I can fly, I believe I can touch the sky, I think about you every night and day...
He would remember this night forever.
